Thanks, got the 5k. Wanted a small one for 1x charge of a phone

    • doesn't have fast charging

      • +1

thats alright 10w is enough for my usage, thanks for the info tho

        • looks like this is the only one available anyways, lol. still a great deal. the nearest 10k one is 300km away :(

    • 5k may not be enough to charge some phones 1x.

    • -1

Is 5k smaller in size than 10k?

      • To be honest I would like to know this too cause I ordered it assuming it will be,.

        • Credit card size thick as an iphone

          • @gingerscale: nice. as long as it can charge a phone up to 50% i'll just keep it in the backpack rather than lugging around a full size one.

  • +10

Note these power banks are not GaN.

Is there even such thing as a GaN power bank? I thought that GaN is only used in the AC to DC conversion process, whereas a power bank charging is a DC to DC process?

    • There isn’t unless it’s a 2 in 1 kinda thing but they look huge

    • +2

May be OP wanted to say PD !!!!

    • Was confused by that as well.

  • Be mindful that this is 2nd gen. 3rd gen here

    • Correct
Any meaningful difference of which you're aware?

      • I don't really know, just researching.
Output power looks quite similar, but not sure about input:

        2nd: Output 1: USB-C (15W) • Output 2: USB-A (12W) • Output 3: USB-A (12W). Input =??
        3rd: Output 1: USB-C: 5V⎓3A (15W) Output 2: 5V⎓2.4A (12W) USB-A Output 3: 5V⎓2.4A (12W). Input: 5V⎓3A (15W)

In terms of weight 5k/10k (3rd gen) are 127g/240g. Cannot find that for 2nd gen (this deal) though.

All the important details are here,
        https://comb.io/Nt0mK3

In seriousness though, I think 15W is as high as it gets from USB without QC or PD and if the revised model had that tech, they'd definitely say so.

        • Revised models do not specify QC nor PD support

      • Actually, specs (for 3rd revision) are at the bottom of that page.

        USB-C Input: 5V⎓3A (15W)

In any case looks like the V2 products have rounded sides like ihphone 11 and V3 have flat sides like 12+

I'm in Sydney - they won't deliver and the nearest store is 159km away - awesome deal if you can get it though.

    • +1

I'd try again! I might've been lucky but just got confirmation for the black 10k coming in to Sydney just now

  • Any info on the dimensions of these powerbanks?

    • +4

Dimensions on cygnet.com, but essentially slightly thicker than an iPhone 14, but shorter and less wide.

I've got one, it's fast enough for my iPhone, has been used on a MacBook (didnt charge it, just slowed how quickly it drained) and I frequently use it with multiple devices. I really like it.

  • OOS - on the 10k

    • +2

got one local pickup just now…

  • +3

Thanks OP, tried to price match with JB but they could only do $24 instead of $22. Used a perks coupon which brought it down to $14. Unfortunately no stock near me so had to pay $6 for express shipping. But $20 delivered is still pretty decent.

10K outta stock in store, but grabbed the 5K.
set it up in the carpark, 10% charge out the box. should i be concerned it's potentially been sitting on low battery for a while?

    • +1

No reason to be concerned aside from maybe someone else used it then returned it (highly unlikely)

camping/ fishing/ hiking / surfing trips .. music festivals, weekends in the country … come on King!

    • +4

excellent for travel too, charges gopro, gaming devices, gimbal, phones you name it

    • +1

yea plenty of devices that either can't or don't need to be fast charged but never the less need to be charged on the go

  • +2

just bought a 10k for local pickup.. not OOS

  • +1

I was not able to order the 10k black online but was able to order on the sales line.

    • +1

Thank you for this! I called and got the red one delivered :)

    • Update: Northland store all of the stock went missing. When calling sales line got a rude man who said it was out of stock even though the website said a store had stock and hung up.

      • Update 2: Saw on the website a store has stock and called them was happy to arrange delivery. So might be best to avoid the 1300 sales line because stores can arrange delivery or pick up.

        • Update 3 The store just called and canceled the order.

JB hifi refused to price match. As per them it’s a clearance product.

    • Yeah I getem same message
      Shame

    • +2

They said the same thing to me as well but offered a lower price of $24 which is only $2 more expensive than TGG.

      • +1

        Can you share the receipt?

        • +2

I've only got an order confirmation.

          • +2

@xers: i was able to bargain it down to 25, they said impossible to bring it down to 24, guess we know who the better negotiator is LOL

          • @xers: Asked them to price match, they said the best they could do was $46 for me…

    • It's hard to get JB HiFi to price match anything anyway…they always come up with a reason.

    • +1

And yet JB HiFi owns The Good Guys, so basically they won't price match themselves.

    Any 10K LILAC?

  • +2

just bought a 10k for local pickup.. not OOS. Had to ring the store as there was less than 2 left in stock.

  • Anyone have a recommendation for power bank to use hiking 7 days+ ideally slightly roughed ?

  • -1

I was just reading this as the postie delivered off my 20k Gen3. Got it for $33 delivered. A reminder to always threaten to cancel your eBay plus every year just before the renewal.

    • you usually just cancel and get ebay plus in a deal for $1 or $5 and some times you get bonuses as well.

  • +1

If anyone is in Nth TAS the Launceston store is showing stock of both 10K and 5K Black, none of the Red. Can't order online, you'd need to ring to ask them to reserve.

  • What’s better, Xiaomi or this?

    • +2

Im going to say Xiaomi because Cygnett have never been high end producers, but xiaomi are generally above average tier/innovative in their products.

      • Indeed. Though I would rate Cygnett as better quality than VRURC or HEYMIX or ZYRON or any other random brand

  • +2

    Thanks OP!

I managed to score a red 10k - but my local store wasent able to find the one they had in stock. They ended up just giving me a Black 3rd Gen version, so even better.

  • Ordered a 5K and 10K just before posting this deal.

5K was picked and shipped not long after, 10K has just shipped.

  • Links no longer working.
