Reads ok-ish until you get to…
    "2 x HDMI Inputs"
Also, no video or audio outputs? Hmm.

No-name brand, I'd personally spend an extra couple of hundred to get a known brand at a retail outlet that I can easily return it to when it stuffs up.

Not even that cheap, similar 42" full HD sets from Kogan etc or go for less than $400 delivered.

If they don't tell you the star rating or the energy consumption in watts, you know it's bad.

  • When JB have sold equivalent sets under $400 http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/68250 in the past, I don't think this constitutes any particular bargain.

Unless you need the 3d (pro tip, those of us who have it don't use it), even Kogan has a set with better specs for $389 delivered:

      • Yep, to be truthful though I would actually use the 3D; but I'm waiting for glasses-free 3D to go mainstream before I upgrade any of my existing TVs.

I'll just keep getting my 3D fix at the cinema til then! :)

Stewballs, this is your lucky week. Sony have a 84" ultra thin model due to hit the market. Understand it is 3d without glasses but may have misheard when the price was mentkoned: A snip at $35k rrp. In true ozbargain style I'll be waiting for it to drift below $1k before researching further.

A person after my own heart! :)

If it's anything like the takeup on plasma's LCDs, once it hits 3-5k, lots of fools will buy it, then complain when it's only 1-2k a year or two later.

  • I believed a 40" Toshiba TL963G from Amazon.de is a better buy. It is roughly about 500$ AUD (556£ - 19%vat).
