Literal night and day difference and these things never die. I've had one for 6 years and it still functions exactly the same. The Herman Miller of mic arms.

      • so good to know! I've been looking for a boom arm and was considering this one.

For the extra cheap like me, this one from Kmart does the job beautifully https://www.kmart.com.au/product/microphone-boom-arm-4324396…

excellent mic arm (I'm running several), but be aware it's not the current version, which is the PSA1+

Had mine for several years and then it started squeaking. Reached out to Rode support and they replaced it with a brand new one no questions asked.

For anyone who is wanting a great boom arm this is one to get, however, I do think if you're new to boom arms, the PSA1+ is the one to go for. More nice features like rubber on the table mount and the fabric prevents your fingers getting caught in the arm. Yes I know it's about 50% more for not much more in features, it's not worth the price difference at all, but for new comers it's very good and the arm is just better than ones from NZXT etc that are similarly priced. Trust me the PSA1+ is just better than other boom arms, so shell out the cash, it will last a long time and it's very good, however if you're looking to save some money the regular PSA1 is still very good, it's 98% the same.

  • currently using these for the past 4 years with an Audio Technica mic, whilst is holds fine my only gripe with it is the base being too low if you want this to go over a monitor. been thinking about the mic arm from Elgato that has extended base.
