Caterpillar eColorado Boot $69.99 (RRP $199.99) + $12 Delivery ($0 C&C/ $150 Order) @ Platypus Shoes

500

Not a bad price for a full leather upper boot with a decent sole - not a safety boot but rugged and comfortable all the same.
Pretty much a Timberland boot with different branding. Fairly good-looking shoe as well, if you're going for the city-pseudo tradie look.
Most sizes available.

  • Tossing up which colour, taffy or honey?

Honey looks much brighter than the classic timberland and the taffy looks darker.

    • oh Honey :D

Great boots, i got the black ones last time round. Just a heads up - may want to order a couple different sizes or try them in store; I wear size 11 New Balance (generally), but am a size 9 with these. I find the same with Blundstone boots, I need to go one or two sizes down. Hope this helps someone

i wear 11AU/12US and found the Colorado 2.0 true to size.

i wear the black ones for work in hospitality. decent non slip sole and looks like a shoe under pants.
bought two pairs at $70 last time. they do the sale price fairly regularly. i'm on my third pair since 2017 after switching from Doc martens.

  • Do these have steel caps? Can't find it say anything in the specs

    • Nope

  • Great deal but I'll wait for the Timberland's to come on sale :)

    • Agreed,

Picked up these a couple of years ago, best value for money shoe going at the time. Took a month or so to properly wear in though, but after that the leather is comfy af.

Although since then it's been fairly slim pickings.

    • not really worth a post of its own but these are $110 but size 13US only and a weird colour.

  • I picked up some Colorado boots a while back for 35 off here, but they are the type of leather you polish so no good for dirty work, so I'm holding off for another pair but hoping for something on the cheap. I was using some hi tec hiking shoes that I picked up here until recently lost them and they did a good job for $35 bucks

  • Is this water proofed

    • yes, after you put beeswax on it.

  • OP These are eColorado. Not leather but fake leather.

I bought 2 pairs as light boots for retail warehouse works a couple of months back on sale as well.

They are great and might as well be leather Colorados.

    100% recommend.

    • Just querying are you sure? They may have changed construction since.

      PRODUCT FEATURES
      Full Grain Leather
      Soft, breathable nylon mesh lining
Soft, breathable nylon mesh sock lining

This is backed up by the fact they come from a tannery (on Colorado's website)

  • "Using Genesis leathers from Gold Rated tannery's,"

Now I'm confused….. Genesis Leather is a synthetic leather and that is the whole point of the "e" in eColorado….

But it def says "Full grained leather"…..

They def feel like leather and look like it…..

    • I think it's to do with other 'sustainable' stuff - from the main CAT web -

RESPONSIBLE LEATHER: Our leather products support responsible manufacturing via our partnership with the Leather Working Group
EFFICIENT MANUFACTURING: Reduced water and energy usage during production of the leather
RECYCLED MATERIALS: Outsole contains partially recycled rubber

  • Mine arrived. I'm an exact US size 10, sadly these wear like a US size 11. Sending them back for a refund.
