I feel that there is some difference and if you remove the hose, then you’d need to fit the bag again.
That said, the savings make up for it. I change them often and still come out ahead by a long shot. If you have carpet at home, the difference between a Miele cats and dogs vs Dyson is night and day.That said, they are cheaper on ebay: about $15

Fwiw, I've gone from a Dyson v6 to a gen5 and have zero regrets!
Before that it was a DC25
I've had my s5311 Miele bagged vacuum since 2013. Still going strong and outlasted a V6 I had.
Bagged vacuums are much more powerful than bagless. Dyson is pure kool-aid.

How complicated do you think a vacuum is? The tech hasn't changed that much. The marketing on the other hand.
By my rough calculations, you buy new vacuums at the same rate as some other people buy these packs of bags.
I've been using generic vacuum bags off ebay for years and not had any issues, last as long as their namebrand counterparts. Here's a 12 pack for $23
What about the HEPA filters? Any thoughts on the generic ones?
not for me. I used the ebay one I purchased last month, 3 of those is leaked and my whole unit is covered in dust inside out.
