  • 6480G is only a tiny bit faster than the Intel 3000, I'd rather get the HP laptop

  • The HP laptop's CPU (i3-2350m) absolutely shreds this.. scores twice as well in PassMark CPU benchmarks. Personally, I also find the HP design a lot better. It does have a marginally smaller HDD, but the CPU more than makes up for it.

      Link?

    • Sounds about right, though Passmark isn't very accurate - it gives double score for a CPU with 4 cores over the equivalent 2 core model, for example.

Anandtech and Tom's Hardware don't seem to have it benchmarked, though.

id avoid this version the 3305M has a stripped down version of the hd6480 with less shaders, even manufacturers are getting shady these days.

  • If you don't want Windows or already have a copy, you can reject MS licence agreement and get another $57 back from MS Aus for Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

  • MSY is selling this model for $378 pick up as well as another variant (intel B940/4G/500G) for $349. I think MSY is better in general as they have physical shops for return/warranty.

PS: As a matter of fact, MSY was selling both of these at a price of $319 after cashback before 30/08/2012.

    • this mob has a shop too
its in capitol square - central sydney

their shop is much nicer if your browsing for goods cause they actually have display cabinets with things on display even! with people who will let you touch and feel laptops

but as for this deal….you are right
not sure about the before 30/08/12 bit though =\
