    You can use the doorbell without a subscription but only in live view.
    If you want the ability to record and view any events you need a subscription.

  This says easy installation, is it really that easy? I have a current doorbell/intercom and it’s really crap so wanting to rip out the current door bell and put this over it. Is this possible?

    I installed it only a week ago. It was pretty simple. Drilling the bolts into concrete took the longest time of 5 mins, setting up and linking to alexa took only a couple if minutes. Gotta charge the device every 4 months or so if you aren’t hardwiring it.
