Would You Buy a Ladder from Amazon?

Hi all,

Needing another ladder and looking around at Bunnings and god they have gone up in price!

Found this on Amazon which looks pretty good.

Not going to be used every day for work or anything, just for the odd job around the house where sometimes having a 2nd ladder (and a bigger one) is handy.

Thoughts? Feedback? Has anyone bought a ladder off Amazon?

Not sold/shipped by Amazon so, no, I would not buy from a third-party on a marketplace.

    • I've bought multiple things on Amazon from a 3rd party and never had an issue. Same with Catch.

Then why are you asking us as to whether we'd buy a ladder using that logic?

        • -3

Yeah, well I gues that is a fair point. I guess when it is a ladder its different than buying some lights or a router. Just not sure whether to trust it or not.

I've found the SedyOnline website and they are only an hour's drive from me. So might go and have a look in person rather than doing it online…… Found their eBay store as well, which has some reasonable reviews.

          I guess I've answered my own question…….

@geekcohen: I tried calling them for the best price. They didn't answer. It just rung and rung.

      • The difference is the return policy

  • I’d just buy it from Bunnings warehouse where the lowest prices are just the beginning

    • +1

Well they aren't the lowest price, even with a PowerPass.

If you can match the same product then you get a discount. But it's not the same product is it?

    • Lowest price as you can return at any time for refund

  • +1

Something to note, they have different prices and delivery costs on all 3 platforms. (Website, amazon, ebay)

    • I had noticed that too, even Gumtree was slightly different. I would assume they are factoring in Amazon and eBay's cut within their sale price.

Idk about you but it’s a real fear in my head about ladder failure. If I’m climbing up anywhere past a 4 tier step stool it’s a job for my convertible Bailey ladder. By all means cheap out on everything else

    • +1

      Yep Bailey or nothing.

  • I got mine from cash converters and they threw in a free dvd. I use my ladder frequently.

    • +2

Not a bad idea. How often do you use the DVD?

      • with a ladder and binoculars.

I'd buy chemotherapy drugs from Amazon.

  • Become a Costco member and buy this.

You can give up your membership for a full refund afterwards, if you want to.

    • My sister is a Costco member…… might have to get it off her.

      • +1

She can take in a guest so might be worth a trip to the store with her to have a look.

    • if i had a costco membership i would have strongly considered one of those
its got a good review from billshowto

i went a baileys still though in the end as i got a decent price for it.

  • Not sure what the price difference would be to an equivalent Bunnings ladder, but the fact I can just go return it to a store is quite appealing. Returning the Amazon ladder would be (at a guess) more bothersome.

Amazon do have a great return process - I've just never used it for anything that big.

Amazon reviews for the ladder are positive

  • I shudder to think what the return postage would cost if you needed to return it.

  • a 4m ladder for $220?

I got the gorilla version of this for $80

    EOL/floor stock.

  • Any equipment that puts my safety at risk, I will only buy a reputable brand from Bunnings.

  • Having used a similar ladder, I wouldn’t be buying one like this. Maybe OK as a short stepladder, but not keen on using at full length. There’s just too much movement in the hinges.

Oh, I’d never buy from Amazon either with the possible exception that it is an item that simply can’t be bought elsewhere.
