Why Is Maccas So Slow Now?

Back in my younger days, I remember there was a time when Maccas have a sand timer that promises our order to be ready in 1 minute, otherwise it's free. There were some exceptions, and the staff told us ahead, but it was otherwise a fun experience, as we hope to get our meals for free as we watch the sand goes down.

These days, whenever I ask the staff if it can be ready in even 5 minutes, because I'm catching a bus or train, they always lazily say no.

Why fast food becomes so slow and expensive?

I blame the youth of today. Those rapscallions are probably too busy looking at tiktok to make my burger!

I put it down to attention span. Imagine the youth of today. A 14 year old was born in 2009! Isn't that after the iPhone came out? Probably weaned off a cell phone. I'm turning 45 and I noticed this is a thing with people under 30 now.

Coronavirus. Literally every poor/slow service or increased expense is blamed on that.

    Things are not slower.

Humans have simply become more impatient.

I usually get my order within 5 mins (usually under 2 mins) at the drivethrough window even during peak hours. Not sure how much quicker you expect freshly cooked food that you put into your body can get
