Seiko Sumo GMT SFK001J $549 Delivered @ Starbuy

130

The Seiko SFK001J Prospex Aqua Sumo GMT Diver is a Solar movement watch with 200m water resistance. The SFK001 features a classic looking watch with a Blue dial along with a stainless steel case & bracelet.

Seiko Prospex introduces its first solar watch with a GMT hand, powered by the in-house built new calibre of 5K62. The watch shape is affectionately named ‘Sumo’ by Seiko fans because of its size and shape and the 12 o’clock marker.

The Lumibrite colour on the 24-hour hand is high in visibility underwater and the aqua coloured dial produces vibrant accents to the elegantly pressed pattern design. The 200 metre water resistance is paired with a stainless steel case and high power generation efficiency.

Featuring the Seiko in house solar 5K65 movement, the SFK001J1 has an accuracy tolerance of approximately +15 /- 15 seconds per month . This model is finished in full Stainless Steel. The hands and the markers have lumibrite to make them visible at night (once fully charged). The case size is 45mm and thickness 13.2mm and with a lug width of 20mm. The lug to lug size is the same as the previous iteration of the classic Sumos at 51.8mm and the entire watch weighs approximately 190gm. Being a 200m dive watch, features include a screw lock crown, a screw case back and a uni-directional rotating bezel. Additional features include a date function and a stop seconds hand function.

The SFK001J features Sapphire Crystal glass with anti-reflective coating on the inner surface and has a magnetic resistance of 4800 A/m.

Step up? What's wrong with Japanese?

      • If you want Swiss I recommend this genuine store.

Heavy Turkish accent: My friiiieeeennddd… I do special price for you, my friend, special price. Only today. Just for you. You seem like nice man. If sell you fake… I guarantee I write you an apology in my own blood.

If you drive a Corolla or Camry, seikos fine

        • If you want to use car analogies, Toyota make the Land Cruiser and Supra, sooo…..
And to add to that, Toyota own Lexus. Seiko own Grand Seiko.

        • In that case I'm glad there's nothing wrong with Camry and Corolla :)

        I'd rather an Oris diver's sixty-five than a USD$4,000 1965 prospex recreation.

        • I wouldn't pay $6K for that. That's almost GS money.
That said, I'm sure you could find models from each brand which could reverse the argument.
Oris' Kermit comes to mind as something which, despite being very cool, is a bit of a hard sell at the asking price.

          • @O15: True, guess good to get something you can easily resell again or that holds its value.

    • Different mostly, wouldn't say better (but traditionally are and more expensive).

Joma is a hassle if something goes wrong and only get their store warranty, so wouldn't spend too much there.

    • Step up to expense , when servicing!

      • yeah servicing a Swiss watch can easily cost 1/3-1/2 the cost of the watch.
Japanese is very easy or just bung a new movement in it (NH35 for $50 etc).

      Nothing alike.

That date window looks very odd, would be better without one.

I'd recommend the seastar Powermatic 80, prx or gentleman.
