Is GST Included in Any Purchase on AliExpress?

I never bought anything from aliexpress so I'm thinking of buying a phone from them. I just wanted to know if all the sellers on AliExpress include GST in the pricing? I see that most of their stuff are from china warehouse so I'm just worried that I may be required to pay the custom tax if AliExpress doesn't include GST

With Aliexpress, the GST is shown in the final step of the checkout. The GST is not shown on the product listings.

There's also Paypal currency conversion to take into account, and possibly even a international transaction fee that gets charged by your bank, depending on your card.

Also consider lack of warranty if anything goes wrong either on arrival or 3/6/11 months later.

I'm finding aliexpress really painful on any faults these days, always siding with the seller.

I recently had a fitbit band disintegrate after 2 months after a 2 month delivery time. Seller's response was "buy another 5 and we give yo big discount". Then they blocked me.

        AliExpress no help

I had the wrong colour of an item shipped, The seller agreed they shipped the wrong colour, so offered a 5% refund, AliExpress sided with the seller in the end.

          I'm WTF!

      • I've had multiple cheapie items (around $5) that got automatically refunded in seconds after I raised a dispute, but that's like straight after delivery not weeks/months later. And a $24 battery that came bent lol. I haven't had a dispute rejected yet pretty lucky I guess.

And consider paying the 90 cents extra for postage because free postage really might mean your order arrives 3/6/11 months later.

      • The Choice orders and the combined fast shipping has actually turned up 1-2 weeks after ordering, I don't mind paying a bit more for the fast shipping sometimes

Prices are basically ex GST, GST is added at checkout on top of the price you see.

Depends on what time are you talking about before 2018 I think, No it dd not used to.

But thanks to greedy politicians, ATO, and government ofcourse, along with Harvery norman, Jb Hifi and other local greedy companies we have to pay that totally unnecessary extra tax (more like a donation to government for buying own $h!t).

    • GST is a reasonable tax imo. It can't be easily avoided, you pay more if you spend more (so if you don't spend any money then you don't pay GST, but if you buy a $10,000 TV then you pay $900 in GST or whatever.

  • GST is added at checkout.

  • Yes, gst at checkout.
I have never had issues with returning products, when you talk/writing to resolutions, they have refunded or sent another item out. Issue item gets thrown out. However, I've not had an issue with an item A$50+

When i had a lenovo ear buds take a long time to deliver, i contacted them and received a refund. The item at the price i got was no longer available. 2 days later they arrived. Contacted them and they said to keep them. No charge.

All this year, except for the ear buds, items have been arriving 8 to 14 days.
    Items aren't large/bulky.

I do wonder how people's experiences are with large / expensive items.

  • GST is added at checkout.

Try it. Add something to cart, and go through checkout. You'll see the GST component before commiting to paying.
