They required 200 deposit for the Atto 3. Test driven the car. Enjoyable experience for an EV

Did the exact same last weekend! Can confirm, was good!

      • Which model do they have boys? Thinking about an Atto 3 through a work lease maybe

        • Only Atto 3 currenty

          • @ChaseTheSun: There are two Atto 3, standard and long range?

            • @serpserpserp: The one I hired was a red long range Atto 3. Not sure if they had standard, since I don't think there was an option for it when I hired it, but that might also be a location thing?

        • +1

Im sure it the extended range in Perth T1 airport. Blue Atto 3. I did a 100 per cent charge overnight and the ranage was 400 km plus which the standard range doesn't have due to the smaller battery.

          • @ChickenAdobo: 400km on the highway? Not too bad. Is it as noisy at high speeds as reviews make out?

            • @serpserpserp: On highways. It will depend what speed you are going at and if adaptive cruise control is used. If constant 80 km then the battery can probably do 400km. 110km i could see it dropping less range than that. I was doing 100km and overtaking slow ice cars on the highway so the range drop by like 2 to 3 percent. There was some wind turbulence but it much better than my 2020 outlander in suspension, steering and noise at high speed.

    20% off Your Next Rental

But you pay extra money for premium location fee (airport), vehicle registration fee and card payment surcharge fee = $110!

A similar car (the cheapest option) rented with Budget on the same day and location costs $82 and no extra BS charges and no extra 20% BS off a part the usual credit card surcharge.

    • do you normally use Budget? How are they (if you do) I have to rent a car mid Jan for 3 days in Perth (from the airport)

      • Used Budget in tassie, had to wait 3 hours tp get the car. Good thing is i get a free petrol.

        • Wait times are all over the place even with the same provider and location. You just need to be lucky.

      • Had good experience with "No Birds" from Perth airport. Pickup and drop off offsite from airport via shuttle. Good rates.

      • Never use Budget car rental in Perth. They are worst in service.

    • vehicle registration fee and card payment surcharge fee = $110!

I just booked a rental with Budget and it's the same CC fee as everyone else. Credit card surcharges are controlled by law so if there any extra fees it's not that.

it's the same CC fee as everyone else

        Sixt basic car $110.
        Budget same basic car $82.
        I see you're not a true OzBargainer.

          I see you're not a true OzBargainer.

I see you don't understand what words mean…

    • You pay a premium location fee with all rental car places that have the cars actually onsite at the airport.

  • Does the booking show the 20% discount? I tried to do a booking but in the end of booking I couldnt see 20% off?

    • Not available at all locations. I have a feeling it's either airport locations or SEQ locations only since it's an EKKA promo.

      • It was working for Cairns airport, but for my dates (in October), it was still more expensive than what I booked a couple of months ago using the 15% NRMA discount.

        • Yeah I was doing Melbourne airport but yeah I did the nrma 3 months ago and then I tried this sixt with supposedly 20% off but was more expensive than my original booking

          pass

          • +1

@prankster: Car rentals have dynamic pricing. So comparing the discounts (NRMA/motoring clubs' 15% off vs this 20% off) 3 months apart is likely to yield different results.

Most car rentals are free cancellations, so I usually just book and check the price (with different offers) at regular intervals in the lead up and cancel/rebook if the price drops (which it used to always do pre-covid, but doesn't seem to anymore with the mass de-fleeting in early 2020 and subsequent supply issues on cars)

Does anyone know if their BMW ix3 has some sort of assisted driving similar to autopilot enabled?
Or is that an bmw subscription service now?

  • I matched my diamond hilton status with sixt 8 years ago and they gave me lifetime platinum status. Its a bit more expensive but no shuttle bus usually and I always get a generous upgrade.

    • Shuttle bus would be dependent on the car rental location at the airport, if it’s onsite then that’s good however if offsite from airport than you have no choice but to get a shuttle bus which isn’t the end of the world too

      • Yea obviously. My point is sixt usually have airport desks….

  • I already had a booking in Sydney but this worked out $30 cheaper so cancelled and re-booked. Weird it’s a url and not a code.

Has anyone used Sixt at Sydney before? Is the desk at domestic?

I was meant to pick up Atto 3 last week but got a free upgrade to Tesla Model Y, couldn't find any working fast chargers so charging was a real hassle.

  • Thanks OP. Cancelled an existing booking and rebooked at a lower price - Adelaide is seemingly an unpopular airport and the price doesn't seem to fluctuate as much as some other airports.

    • did you get the 20% off pickup from adelaide airport? doesnt seem to show up when i try and book

      • Yep, from Adelaide airport.

      • Showing for me

      • ah i think it doesnt apply for all the dates for some reason… doesnt work for end of sept

  • Wonder what the mystery car is
