      • I purchased with shallothead and have messaged them. Will update here when they reply

        • I messaged them a while ago and haven’t got a reply yet. Someone in the thread said they confirmed with ggtech via text they were supplying codes, so I’ve rolled the dice with them.

    • Got my code after delivery and asking for it. :)

  • is there any other CPU deals? looks like most prices are higher even with the code than usual prices.

  • This or intel 13600K.
Workload: programming, working with massive data files, video editing (for which I will most likely go for 4070).

    • This for gaming, but recommend other chips if it is primarily productivity focused. Check benchmarks for how they stack up in your chosen programs

go for 13600k or even 7700x. This pure for gaming and tbh no big difference under 2k or 4K unless u using top tier gpu

      • I'd still like to game every now and then. Mostly fps like val or csgo + some heavy games like cyberpunk, harry potter etc.
Would 13600k still be a better choice?

        • Depends on what gpu but I would still prefer 13600k cuz it’s relatively cheaper

          • @nelladream: 4070 most likely as I'm keen on building an ITX system for 1080p

  • If I bought one with afterpay coupon I cant buy another with this code?

  • Would this be good for Lightroom?

10 years ago I had a horrendous experience with AMD so have been an intel fanboy for a while, sadly intel is so exxy and you lads keep sharing AMD deals, do I make the leap?

    • AMD makes some banger CPUs now. This one would suck for lightroom but other ones are up there with the Intel

  • is there any real benefit over a 5600x or 12400f?

Those cpu review spec sites say 15% - which isn't that much>?

    Using 4070

    • It all depends on bottleneck and overclocking capability.

If you want max gaming then you want this cpu + a 4090.
If you are using a 4070 you only need a 5600x - which is within a 15% bottleneck from the cpu.

    • I will not spend $589 + mb + ddr5 for few more fps unless you have 7900xtx, 4080 and 4090.

Any deals on Motherboard & RAM to pair with the CPU?

    • you can search b650m and ddr5 on here and there are deals still on

    • What build did u have in mind?

  • Will this work with my motherboard?
    AMD® X570S UD Motherboard

  • Oh no….I was planning on buying a 5800x3d to keep my AM4 system for longer but I also need more memory as two of my DDR4 sticks were incompatable and now down to 16gb.

Shoudl I just bite the bullet and do an AM5 build? $1000 total would be fine and could sell my 3600, 2 x 2x16gb DDR4 and x570 Tomahawk for…maybe $500? or am I dreaming?

    • for $500 nowadays you can get a 5600, 2x16GB, and a good b550 board all brand new lol

you are pretty much the target demographic for the 5800x3d on the other hand

also what do you mean your ram sticks are incompatible?

      • I know, that's why I want to get the 5800x3d. I should just do it and stop messing around.

I bought 2 packs of 8gb ram. They didn't play nicely with each other and I couldn't overclock or even use XMP without it crashing soon after booting. Eventually it wouldn't even run with 4 slots (32gb) in there so I pulled them and running 16gb dual channel with XMP works fine. So getting 2x 16gb ddr4 would probably be my best option to keep it going and can probably find a fair bit of that around nowadays, new or 2nd hand.

  • I wonder if they'll honor warranty beyond eBay's buyer protection

Something people forget to mention. 3D cache thrives with mmo's, strategy games/RTS, mil-sims with lots of players etc. So if you play those types of genres you will see huge performance gains over any other CPU. Your typical big budget, single player AAA FPS/action/adventure games are very rarely CPU bound.

  • Price hiked to $715 now

  • Got FOMO and bought from Scorptec for $603.89

Called the store and they confirmed that the ebay store one also comes with Starfield
