Herschel bag- which is your favourite?

I'm buying this as a gift for my boyfriend; he likes red and I'm contemplating between these two bags. Which do you prefer?

He loves nudie jeans, gstar, ben sherman polos and superdry. I'm not sure how practical this bag would be as a uni bag, but hopefully it will last through trends and fads for the next 10 years!

lol gay. Do you want your boyfriend to break up with you?

    • Ah you guys are all rookies! You have to think like a woman!

She is purposely doing it so no other woman will ever hit on her man!

    they're both a tad bit feminine…

If you want a practical uni bag, make sure it has a padded laptop compartment (that's the most important thing).

I have a High Sierra backpack that wouldn't trade for anything else — it's lightweight and durable.

High Sierra - functional but butt ugly.

      • I'm obviously not a fashionista :) Couldn't care less about how my bag looks, so long as it serves my needs well. Function over form.

I do have a Tiger Onitsuka bag bought from Rushfaster but its tiny as all hell and won't even fit an ultrabook.

  • Uni for the next 10 years? How optimistic lol

I can't imagine someone who likes G-Star and Superdry enjoying a bag in those colours. The navy/dark salmon colour combination is nice, but it reminds me too much of shop window awnings. Dark salmon may be trendy for a time, but will he be comfortable wearing it? If he is now, will he want to wear it past the first couple of months? A colour like a solid navy or wheat/oatmeal would be more long lasting, and much easier to pair with clothing.

Edit: Oh, you said that he likes red. In that case, I'd go with the solid "Rust" colour. Then again, I think there's a world of difference between red and dark salmon.

You won't have to worry about it going out of fashion at least. Yuck.

I own a decent amount of G-Star and Superdry clothing and I wouldn't be caught dead with that visual abortion of a pack strapped to my back. The backpacks you have listed just scream "hipster douchebag". Agree with escimojoe, don't buy this unless you're planning on a breakup.

  • I think they are both pretty cool. I'm not gay.

Your boyfriend would love them if he's not a bogan/guido/tradie.

They are nice bags. They've been around a while and so ha that style. The rest of you wanker Ozzies who have not left this island wouldn't know a thing. Pff

They are bags in the "women's" section. She is buying them for the bf. Think about that for a moment.

  • If you want this style of bag I reckon find a brand that isn't hershel that does the same stuff. Imo they are much too expensive for having PU and not real leather! Look for some authentic vintage swiss army style bags on ebay for example. Lots of people make these bags by hand on etsy, too.

If he is set on hershel go for the burgundy, its less clashing.

  • i like the second one better
