OP typing this marketing BS claim all in uppercase doesn't make these speakers sound better than CD audio quality.

There, I just changed it to lower case.

These have a better value, $181, free delivery, plus Bluetooth, 3.5" drivers, tonnes of 5 star feedback and no BS statements:

Yes, I agree they are great set of speakers, specially for someone looking for a set of monitor speakers. However the Edifier S880DB more of an general speaker and this price point is kind of like the lowest its ever been, therefore think it is also a great deal, even with a bit of BS.

@ravij: edifiers are sold in pc shops

presonus is sold at dj shops

            eg.

but i mean fighting over 3.5" vs. 3.75" drivers sounds pretty pointless overall given both will sound like tin cans on even mid bass

            • @tonyjzx:

both will sound like tin cans on even mid bass

Some people need small speakers to have on the desk together with a computer monitor and they don't want to spend a fortune so these 3.5 or 3.75" speakers are the solution and if you want that bass punch, you need speakers with at least a 17" driver.
But are you talking about monitors or disco/party speakers?
I replaced my 2 way powered speakers whit these 3.5" Prosonus, I adjusted the speakers' bass and treble and I set the right ambient settings on my computer's audio card, what I can tell is that I ear notes that I never heard before even if these speakers have a 3.5" driver and I can feel the sound coming out from the centre of the computer monitor.

              • @billadm: That’s the purpose of monitors lol. They also sound terrible to 90% of people who aren’t producing music/audio.

              • @billadm: "at least a 17 inch driver"?? You what?! Lol

            • @tonyjzx: Edifier only sold in stores selling drop ship china crap

Well if you search in here you will see that the store is as Centre Com, so I will leave it as is.

          • @ravij: Fair enough but looks like the power users have been slacking off. The majority of listings are Centrecom

  • Free ship Unless you're in 6210, then it's $18.95.

  • Old BT 4.1, apart from that seem great.

I bought this last week (same price) and delivery is quick.
Sound quality is great for classical music, i.e. string ensemble. Better than my Yamaha soundbar YAS 209 (it is also good). I don't have other speakers to compare with.
I actually pair it with wiim mini to play Amazon Music Unlimited, a subscription offering Hi- Res music. A great experience of Hi-res music (end-end), 24bits/192khz, for the very first time in my life. Also at a fraction of cost otherwise I would expect to pay for a HiFi DAC + a hi-fi AMP + HiFi speakers.
I believe it is highly likely you can achieve better sound quality if you want to spend more. In my use case, however, I feel good enough with my combinations.
Hooked S880DB with Optical on TV to watch Vivaldi channel on Plex, enjoy the music coming out of the speakers. What a beautiful day!
Unpro Tips: use optical/usb cable, not Bluetooth, wherever/whenever possible.

  • Decent speakers for this price, purchased last Nov for $160 for my son's PC and he loves it.
