7-Eleven App and Other Cheap Fuel Alternatives

It appears that the party has come to an end. If your app encounters a G09 error, don't be surprised, as your account might have been permanently blocked. Unlike before, it seems that 7-Eleven has chosen to prohibit many of its regular patrons.

Contrary to previous practices, the ban doesn't seem to be solely based on your username or account, but rather on your device itself. It's unrelated to your account activities; eg, whether you've travelled between states within a specific timeframe. To me, it's quite evident that they've enforced the app ban based on device-related information.

Perhaps someone could shed light on whether this is the case or offer suggestions on avoiding such bans. It's conceivable that the app might have collected your IMEI or other device identifiers without your knowledge. Some apps might request access to this data for legitimate purposes like analytics or troubleshooting. I'm uncertain if anyone recalls granting such permissions to 7-Eleven or other apps, given that some apps could potentially misuse this data for tracking or other dubious intentions.

I'd appreciate your insights. Where do you plan to purchase fuel from now on? Thank you."

Create buffer by having some fuel cans (if your home can accommodate them).

  • Costco.

My suggestion is you search for G09 on the 7-Eleven megathread, as the G09 error (and what could be causing it) is discussed there in more detail a lot. In short, your theory fits in with the discussions on that forum.

In terms of what is next, it is up to you whether you want to go through the process of creating new accounts and/or resetting devices (assuming you are using an iPhone) to try to get your chopper back in the air. If you do not want to do that, I’d suggest you do two things:

    • Keep an eye on a fuel price reporting app/website (e.g. NSW FuelWatch, PetrolSpy) to see the price of fuel at service stations around you.

    • Have a look through the Fuel Discounts wiki page to see which fuel discount offers (and gift cards) you may be able to access for various service stations across the country. Considering your apparent location is a city with a fuel cycle, my suggestion is that this wiki would only really become useful towards the bottom of the fuel cycle.

The app picks up your unique Device ID, which (assuming you're on Android and have Magisk) can be changed on an app-by-app basis. There's nothing they can do to 'device-ban' you, as you can easily just generate a new number.
