ACE COMBAT™ 7: SKIES UNKNOWN Steam key for $12.90 from Fanatical (which is an official store), looks like a good price. I haven't played this before and thought to give it a try.

I was looking for used Xbox discs too but they were bit expensive. Anyway planning to play with Xbox controller on PC.

Yes, I too have been looking at 2nd hand, but for some reason Ace Combat games tends to have high resale value and maintain their high price for a long time.
It's not a simulation though. It's an arcade shooter with very slight simulation amibition.
I used to like Crimsons Skies but it's just to old and low res, Air fix Dogfighter surprisingly is still kinda playable, for old times sake. This might be OK, you don't seem to get as close to things as in Crimson Skies though.

I remember playing Air Combat (before it was Ace Combat) at the arcades! It was a huge cockpit cabinet. There were some arcades with a huge rear projection screen so that the entire arcade could watch you crash and burn.

I played it a lot and got all the achievements for it on Xbox when it was on Game Pass.
I like the Ace Combat games and this is no exception. A lot of people find it difficult though. Looking at the achievement stats, on TrueAchievements, 106,000 players have completed the first mission. Only 507 players have completed all missions on the hardest difficulty with S Ranks.
