  • FYI this is an 1800R curvature, not 1000R. I got it and compared against an older 1800R, and then AOC's 1000R.

    • Kogan must mis-labeled it. How does the monitor look compared to the ones you owned?

It's decent for the price. "HDR" is obviously nonsense, as is all other monitors claiming it at this brightness/price. Not too bad ghosting for a VA. A bit of flickering issues, not sure if this was specific to my setup.

Anyway due to this and the 1800R, ended up returning it. 1000R feels like the bare minimum for 34" UWs, 1800R VA looks a bit washed out at the edges.

The AOC CU3GS is not much more on discounts (ebay, etc), and not having to deal with Kogan (they're refusing to truthfully label the curvature for some reason after I gave them photo proof), so I'd generally recommend that.

    • Thoughts on it?

Here you can download the manual pdf.

  • According to the spec sheet it only has a maximum display brightness of 300 nits. HDR400 is the lowest HDR spec which is considered to be hardly noticeable at all, with this being much lower than that. This feels like false marketing on Kogan's behalf.

Yep. I have the older 144hz version of this this monitor and HDR is a bit of a joke. Turn it off ASAP. Colours mute and the brightness tanks.

Brilliant for work though, two windows open works great, spreadsheets, zoom/teams etc. Ultrawide and Freesync rock. For the money it's great.

For me, next time I'll get another ultrawide with a brighter screen and better contrast.

possibly a newer Xiaomi Mi monitor with usbc, integrated speakers and 165hz over 144. if this has the same samsung panel as the Mi, could be a decent budget Ultrawide

Paid $600 for my last two Kogan 34" ultrawides, very happy with both. The Xaiomi equivalent was rubbish and immediately returned.

If I needed another monitor this would be an immediate buy, even considering the (lack of proper) HDR and Kogan's customer service.
