I like the challenge of 7-11 food. Will I be OK after eating out of date product that has been out of the fridge too long?

      • +1

yep. I tried it a few times and nothing happened. Of course after you buy it you need to put it in the freezer and take what you would need on the day. Huge saving

just the $6 MMC alone is a good deal in itself, ill take the 100 velocity as well.

    • +1

Unlikely to have more then 2 left on the shelf anyway.

  • So can freeze these after buying or fridge only?

    • you can freeze them (mainly pasta ones) to extend their dates out a little bit, but some meals are better off to be fridge only.

      • +1

Can you elaborate on this please? I legitimately thought freezing food basically stops time. Seriously. There’s a limit?

  • Are these any good, taste wise and macro wise? I am also a vegetarian, do they have a good selection?

    • +2

Woolworths stocks this brand. Range depends on each individual store and time since restock. There’s usually around 30+ grams of protein per meal, for non-vegetarian meals anyway. Having tried a few brands, I would say they taste better than the Woolworths/Coles branded ready meals, and are more filling (ie more calories, better macros), but they are also more expensive.

    • yes, taste great

    • Depends on what you get. Some meals are good, others, not so good. I can't speak from a vegetarian meal perspective, however, I do see that they stock quite a few. Macro wise depends on your macro goals. I find most of their vegetarian meals are higher in fats and not as high in protein. Check out their website - they list all their meals there along with the caloric / macro details.

What do you mean "healthier too than 7 eleven"? These aren't 7-11 branded meals, they're My Muscle Chef meals.

        • Look at their actual website… all the info is there.

@itsmehuey: I had a look at the nutritional value on the woolies website, hardly healthy but people will buy them because of convenience, and good marketing (protein brah sells).

            Eg. Spaghetti bol
            16.8g saturated fat
            2570mg sodium

            Wow lol..
Thanks for the tip will see if their website has any healthier (plant based) ones.

Doubt 7 eleven will have a massive range but may check it out.

It's on there (says today only) but I wouldn't go to out of your way - the 7/11 I went past didn't even have them, just the youfoodz version (assume not the same thing).

      • Ta

  • Bought two thanks

  • Are these products also usually hoarded by the 7-11 staff or are they available at all stores?

    • That only happens when they are freebies

  • Don't forget you can only purchase these once with the discount - I've bought 2 and the discount applies for each of them so it's a great deal
