Sending Back The Phone for Samsung Trade in

📱 Hello everyone! 📱

Has anyone here gone through the Samsung trade-in process for their old phone or device? 🔄 I got an email saying all I need to do is show the provided label at the post office, and they'll handle the packaging and all. 📦

I'm curious about your experiences - did you pack your device yourself before going to AusPost, or did you follow the label-only approach? Any tips or insights you could share would be super helpful! Thanks in advance for your input. 🙌

I packed mine in a small Amazon Box and printed out the label at home and stuck it on the box.

Then went to the Post Office and handed them the box.

Take photos of all phone surfaces, package in box, in bubble wrap, taking photos again. In case they stooge you.

But it is a very obvious ChatGPT generated question 😂

      • Damn :D I tried for the first time and could not get away with it.

Took a small Amazon box, packed it with balled up catalogue pages, placed the plastic wrapped phone in middle, topped it off with more balls. Taped it up to oblivion. Took photos at each stage so definitely something you'd do at home not at the post office.

Who knows how they package it, might end up losing $200 off your trade in value for a mysteriously cracked phone

  • When I took it to my local AusPost, they brought out a tiny A5-ish satchel for free, but I told them it wouldn't fit the item and I would prefer to use my Amazon box. So they just stuck the labels onto that.

  • I've used it twice no issues but recently been hearing stories of people having issues where they don't get full value of trade in because apparently the phone arrived damaged or doesn't meet descriptions, etc.

What I do is go to the PO and when they bring out the envelope put the phone on top of the envelope and take pictures that shows you're at the PO and the phone is in good condition before you shipped it.

  • Do they ask for ID to ship the parcel at Australian post office?
