  • Aren’t you better off selling your games on eBay?

    • +7

      Easier to trade them in

    • Depending on the games, no.

Only is worth if the game has a value of $20-25 or more.

    • +8

eBay takes like 15% of the sale, is no longer worth it

      • +1

And sometimes you pay shipping + package

    • Ebay takes just over 12% in fees for total sale price of item AND postage then you have to fork out postage as well which is costing more and more lately. If you sold a game for $65 posted you are looking at around $48 after fees and postage.

      • Yes, it's quite ridiculous.

I post what price want on Marketplace, and then on ebay I chuck on an extra like 40% haha. I hate ebay.

Do we have a list of trade in prices anywhere handy? Got a copy of a Pokemon game on Switch that would surely get me a decent amount towards that Jedi Survivor deal.

    • +1

Around 1/3 from their preowned prices plus your bonus.

I posted in classifieds, happy to give my barcode out like in the past for the level 5 bonus

    • Does that work, they don't check I'd?

      • As long as you provide a valid ID and contact details for the trade, you can just say you're using a mate's EBW card :)

        • Just got shut down immediate by staff at one of the stores on the Gold Coast….

Says the name has to match the id for the trade.

        • thats Not been a thing for years.

  • When did this start?

Where did this even come from? Checked my emails and nothing and same on their FB page. Will take advantage as Im lvl 5 but odd I cant find it anywhere but here.

Traded in Final Fantasy 16, GoW Ragnarok, Dead Island 2 and new Zelda and got $213. Happy with that.

    • Not bad.

    • How much did you get for God Of War and Dead Island 2?

      • +1

        $54 GoW and $48 for DI2

  • Does anyone know what the trade in fees is about? I got charged $1-2 per game cause they need check if it works and clean up despite my game case and cartridge is still on very good condition.

Did I get ripped off by EB?

    • +1

Definitely some dodgy salesperson by the sounds of it.. or your location might be notorious for bad/damaged trades?

I just traded some in at Lunch time today and all they did was open up the cases to check the game was present :/

      • Thanks. I assumed it was standard practice since I've only traded a few games once.

I'll push back on this next time

Did your games have the European rating system on it? Last time I traded in a couple of games with the European rating system and they charged me $3 for each. But when i traded in ones with the Australian rating system, no fee was ever charged.

      • Yes I did. It was the US version of the Binding of Issac and probably the UK version of Crash Team Racing

        • +1

if u ever need to trade in foreign games, just find Australian Rating stickers u have from other games around the house and stick them on the games u are trading, then they don't charge the fee.
