Been using one of these for a few years and perfect price to replace it with a fresh new one. Thanks.

Not gonna question why, but when I got to checkout this came down to $3.50ish, so there's an extra win!

  • +1

    Thanks got one

  • Are you kidding, I just bought one for $30 a couple days ago… Good deal, great pad.

  • +1

Thanks. My mats getting very dirty.

    • +2

They can go in the washing machine, it will accelerate the wear of the logo though

      • +2

Mines been through the machine (front loader!) a couple of times - cleans it up really well!

        • Just this or along with other cloths?

          • +1

@John Doh: Probably advised to go in with clothes or some towels at least so the washing machine isn't unbalanced or the mouse pad isn't violently hitting the sides. I've washed dozens of shoes this way and it works well enough

            • @DiscountForThee: Err you wash your shoes together with your clothes mate?

              • @Arealtur Kishman 69: Nah shoes I would normally do in addition to some other non-sensitive items, such as bath mats, towels (but perhaps not my finest), and things like that. Don't use warm water and there is no worry about the glues coming apart or them warping. Mousepad is probably fine in with clothes.

Been doing it for years and the white runners stay white for much longer :)

          • @John Doh: I reckon it was just the pad along with some liquid detergent, then hung over a ballistrade for a day or two to dry out :)

      • I once tried hand washing this, i even scrubbed it with my fingers gently, but it still lost its origial smoothness. Mouse dont glide as well as the new one after washing. And with multiple expensive mouse, I dont want to roughen up their feet.

Got mine a few years ago but the cloth is coming off the rubber bit. Wouldn't buy again.

    • +8

A few years of action for $10 is fine by me! 😂

      • +2

I just checked my receipts and it was actually just 1.5 years ago. YMMV though
And I only paid ~$4 for it lol

    • Wow… I've had one for three years, it's stretched a bit but I've never had the rubber come off. I play CS:GO and MWII and TFT everyday for like 6 hours of play time, never had that happen. What surface is it placed on? Wood desk? Plastic desk?

    • but that's the scam of cloth mousepads, that's literally the reason why they exist - repeat sales.

I've had an icemat for nearly 2+ decades now, with literally 0% performance degradation. Steelseries bought out icemat, and released the icemat for a few more years under the name of "experience i-2" iirc. then phased them out, and had cloth pads + plastic ones which wear out. this is kind of veering off topic, but my point was: cloth mousepads aren't going to last more than a coupla years anyway, not sure what you were expecting.

P.S. I have a backup icemat, but fully expect my first one to outlast me hehe. lucky i'm not a rager, so it won't crack from slamming my mouse onto it.

Or, it could be because hard mouse pads made from glass are a fair bit less comfortable than cloth-covered neoprene.

I remember the hard plastic mouse pads from the 90s from the likes of SUN and DEC. I do not miss them.

$10 for a cloth/neoprene pad every five or so years, I'm fine with that.

        • +3

can't say that i've ever found my one uncomfortable tbh, but i can certainly imagine a hard mousepad with sharp'ish edges being uncomfortable. fair point, never thought of that.

legend! forgot all about it lol

    my table works fine

    • Your PTFE mouse feet must be all scratched up

      • -2

That's what the ptfe sliders are for. To protect the table to to help the mouse glide.

Being precious about ptfe sliders is a bit like worrying about the state of the felt pads that keep your chairs from scratching the floor.

And if you do need to be precious about it, you can replace the sliders.

  • +1

no longer prime delivery now ;(

  • I have the XXL version and love it. Great feel and quality. It isn't overlocked at the edges but hasn't frayed or shown signs of wear after 1 year of heavy use now. Also cleans up fresh in the washing machine just fine.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • 10 is no brainer as a beginner pad for sure

Excellent. Mine is getting old and tatty, so just ordered one and will cut it down to the Medium size.

  • Just tried click and collect from my local JB, they called me within 5 mins and said they dont have them. Oh well didnt really need one. Ill use my razr one till holes develop.

    • Would you mind posting which store. I Just placed an order and got "ready to collect" SMS from Thomastown,VIC store.

  • +1

Thanks, I used my $10 JB Perks voucher and got the ready-to-collect SMS within 15 minutes. :)

For reference, I used a store in Sydney's West for CnC. 👍

    • Just collected !!! Thanks OP !!!

  • How long is this on special for? my birthday is in September, wouldn't mind for free

  • Not as good a deal as the RGB one I got a few months ago for $20 but still decent.

    • Or, it's a better deal because it doesn't come with RGB.

      And it's $10.

  • Ordered click and collect. Within a few minutes got a call from JB saying that they received a bunch of orders for this, and didn't have enough on hand to meet the orders. Asked if it was possible to collect it from a different store and was told that all stores would likely be having the same issue so I got a refund.

Hope everyone else was able to get it though, didn't really need a new mousepad but it was a good deal.

  • +1

I admit this is 3x the price but my wife got it and I'm totally surprised.

    https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/lanespelare-gaming-mouse-pad-pa…

Next time you're in ikea, 90x40 is pretty decent for $29 and it's not cheap quality.

  • How thick are these? can they act as a semi palm rest when using the mouse instead of resting your palm on a hard table??

    • 2mm. The qck heavy is 6mm and gives more cushioning for your palm

  • +1

all the steelseries mouse pads are on sale except for 1
