LG oled, nothing gets better, got the 2021 C2 and loving it. No burn in at all, running with a media pc with some static images for around 10min at a time for the last few years

  • LG 42 INCH

Massive! No way! How could I find a space to fit in my home.

    • +3

Lot of people use these as a monitor.

    • Buy now, think later~!

  • Waiting patiently for GoodGuys 20% off…..

  • It's this likely to go to $1k early next year like the C2 did? I'm wondering

  • +7

c2 at under $1000 cant be beaten

    • I have been trying to find a C2 for around $1K. All I can find is refurbished ones, or inflated price at David Jones and Qantas Marketplace. :(

  • Yeah I've seen this deal as well to use as monitor for my office but would be mostly my console gaming screen and for sim racing. Just hard to justify the extra $800 from C2 to C3. (Yes that was a ripper deal on the C2)

  • Is C3 much better than C2?

    • +2

No but it is much better than C1.

Also i probably would hold until $1,500.

      • Or lower, depends on how patient someone is

    • i think the auto dimming is fixed on c3.

  • Is anyone using a C1 or C2 42" as their primary monitor for work use? Thoughts?

I'm in mixed minds about the glossy screen but I have a C1 65" for the living room and I can't fault it. Now I'm throwing around the idea of replacing my Dell 38" curved ultrawide with this….

      i have a c1 48 as primary its awsome

deciding between sticking to 48 or 42 as next move but powertoys fancyzones has turned it into 3-4 screens in one

biggest annoyance is pixle cleaning, since i turned off auto dimming but its liveable as I have not had burn ins yet and i use it 8+ hours daily knock wood

      • If you have auto-dimming turned off, do you just change the brightness manually given the time of day/night it is, or is it always set to a specific setting?

        • +1

Mines set to a specific brightness

It’s not maxed but it’s not dimmed

My room is well lit with light so I don’t depend on natural light

It’s just it doesn’t do pixel cleaning when it’s off so when I turn it on it asks for it. Happens every 2-3 days, not sure if newer models do it when it’s off.

          • @QuQ: With your room being well lit, how do you find light glare off the screen?

I've got the 42" C2 for desktop use. Amazing.

      • Cool! If you were going to use this for work, I assume that we can tax deduct it hey?

  • I have a $50 voucher for JB that expires at the end of the month from the Pixel 7 deal. Was going to pull the trigger on a 65 inch that was under $2k but then all the prices have skyrocketed. What is going on?

      Aussi Dollar 0.64

      • +1

        cries in OLED

  • -5

    LG C4 8k 55” @ sub $2k would be an explosive deal

Avoid the C5 though…ask Clive Sinclair
