    Really ought to mention the weights of the spools for these. For reference:
    * EasyWood: 500g for $28.98
    * CarbonFil: 500g for $35.00
    * EasyFil HIPS: 750g for $21.40
    * The resins are all 500mL.

    The price of the HIPS is decent, but the others aren't that attractive. Sorry.

      Exactly, sounds great till you see it's only 500g

        Exactly. No bargains to be seen here.

    The smell of the EasyWood after printing is amazing. Some wet/dry sandpaper finish with water can also make these prints look nice. My only warning is to keep the filament super dry. Otherwise, look forward to the filament snapping and removing failed prints.

    • remarkable that we can make imitation wood out of dinosaur juice

      • They include wood fibres on the pla which is made from plant materials

      • People think coal and other petrochemicals are dinosaur juice - its almost all plant material

        • Well, I do refer to all fuels as dinosauce.
          I'm sure there is some Dino in there but all plant material. Can not be renewed as there wasn't any bacteria/fungus that broke the plants down

  • I've tried the wood filament before. It clogs really easily. I used a standard 0.4mm nozzle - I've heard 0.6mm nozzle helps this but haven't tried it. After a few hours dark sticky sap started oozing out of the top of the extruder. The few successful prints I managed to get are pretty cool… but many failed prints due to blockages, and having to clean out the whole extruder up to the bowden tube was painful.

      Unfortunately real wood filled filaments do have a tendency to clog with 0.4mm nozzles and smaller. But a good print with a 0.6mm nozzle is incredible! Ebony and Cedar are our favourites. I would highly recommend testing a 0.6mm nozzle. With arachne based slicers you don't loose much detail and the wood fill does a good job of hiding layer lines.
