  • This or wait for snapmaker?

    • +2

Snapmaker of you have already backed and primarily want to do multicolour/multifilament.

Few more months wait for delivery though.

If you need it now, many are using the S1.

This is a bit cheaper than the ebay deal.

      • If love the ability to do petg+tpu simultaneously which the S1 can't do. But that's a nice to have.

Reliable fast multi colour would still be a big upgrade for me

What is the actual cost of the Snapmaker? There are only so many at their intro price

        • It's just over $1200AUD for the U1 on Kickstarter. That's the one you want.

EDIT: seeing the recent announcement from bambu of their toolhead changing platform (similar to U1), my next printer would have to be toolhead, no more traditional filament switching.

          • @anthman: Isn't it for their big dog series tho?

It definitely seems like tool changer is the next big leap tho

            • +1

@boatguy: Bambu H2C will probably be around $4000.

          • @anthman: Bambu’s hotend changer is underwhelming though as it only solves the time problem with AMS. It does not fix the issue of wanting to mix in AMS incompatible filaments like TPU and PET-CF.

            • @roller: we'll have to wait and see when it comes out.

Prusa's INDX collab is also due to release in November, which looks like a nice middle ground once we can get standalone kits to work with other printers

  • Anyxubica own website re the pricing…

    Kobra S1 combo $729.00
    Regular price $759.00
    Save $30.00

    It's not 39% off. It's $30 off

    • +1

Yeah, typical inflated RRP that the printer was never sold at. Bambu does the same.

At least you're getting two spools - realistically saving $25.

  • Multicolour prints are almost impossible with latest firmware and there slicer. Ive maxed out there purge settings still getting bleeds

    • is prime tower enabled?

      • Yep.

        • Might want to consider a stainless steel nozzle. Sometimes the bleeds comes from dirty nozzle.

          • @kekw: I actully cooked my last hot end brand new one in. and as i cooked it doing a white/black test i starte dit straight back up. Its pretty common issue.

I don't really print much colour so its not a major issue, ill wait for a firmware update.

My kobra 3 v2 prints fine though. Its been printing a white/yellow/black mooneyes logo perfect. Stock settings

    • can you downgrade the firmware?

      • Yea think thats the solution. Going to try a few more settings first. As I also have rinkhals installed.

  • Curious about the Anycubic Kobra 3 V2 actually. I think I will only do PLA most of the time for my use case.

Is it worth to pay extra for more material support in case I need it in the future? Need some pros opinion.

    • +1

The kobra 3 v2 also supports 8 colors

      • Not about the color but more the temperature.

I will probably only print single color and spray print myself.

Becuz I did some research and PLA might not be suitable for usage > 55-60 degrees

    • +1

I did say if budget allows get the S1. corexy is much more stable to print at high speed.

      • Just the matter if it is a waste for me to get the upgrade or not.

Otherwise need to hand in my ozb badge as I spent more LMAO.

Pulled the trigger on S1 Combo as my 1st 3D printer. Thanks!

  • This a good entry level step for a beginner? Want something that isn’t too costly but will allow me to explore & experiment - go through the usual motions of making non stop plastic Christmas presents for people etc..

  • Looks like Topcashback has 5% cashback too.
I think I'm going to take the plunge
