XTM Helios 224 LED Driving Lights $169.99 (was $299.99). It's no XTM Nebula LED 224 Driving Lights at $50

I believe this is only for the weekend, expiring today. I got the email about a 48 hour deal.

The Helius ones are brighter at 22000LM per pair vs 18,000LM for the Nebula.

I would still recommend these as I have the Nebula and they are brilliant.

Here are some videos of the Nebula:

If you need a wiring harness, you can get this from BCF for $59.99 Club Price.

these are awesome. everyone honks their horn at me to tell me how cool i am now

  • @rhimes you need the old oil slick released from the exhaust pipe trick. It worked for Maxwell Smart, gets them everytime!

    • Probably don't tick that box in your insurance that asks for any modifications done.

a great way to void your insurance policy if you have an accident.

        • This won't void your insurance policy.

At worst, you should be insured under the conditions you would've been had you ticked the modifications box…

It's a standard form contract and people make small mistakes filling them in all the time, it's not good for society if that means no one's insured.

          • @Assburg: I hope you are right. I drove across the Nullarbor once and removed the rear seats on my car for better baggage space. A mate told me to check in with insurance as it meant the car had been modified.

Sure enough, the insurance company said it was ok but if I hadn't in formed them they could reject the claim

@slipperypete: They'll reject every claim they can, but courts will gladly have many claims enforced.

There's a lot of movement in the past few years with regard to the treatment of consumer insurance contracts. The courts are starting to recognise them for what they are - something customers have no leverage in negotiating, so, in rather simple terms they put a higher burden of maintaining that contract on the insurer.

not sure where you got this info. You can add 4 additional lights to a car

You may be thinking of modifying existing lights rather than adding lights

      • 100%

    • Not illegal if installed correctly.

If they were illegal, why would everywhere sell them and places like ARB fit them?

I think you are referring to halogen lights that aren’t allowed LED globes. To have LED globes you need “projector” fitted lights. People install LED globes in non projector lights and its spews light everywhere. That’s illegal.

      You're partially correct.

They must be Australian Design Rules approved. You'll see ADR approved in the packaging.

Here's an article all about LED headlights
