  • What does the plug look like .
    Can it be modded

    • +5

The matching loom kit is also $50 for plug and play.

You could always snip the plugs off and wire in a relay, switch etc yourself.

      • +2

Wanted to mod it for backyard lights lol

        • 240 volts will kill these in no time.

          • +1

@Muzeeb: I would use a 12v stepdown psu stripped from mirabella light strip

            • +1

@easternculture: That won't make enough watts to power these

            • @easternculture: These draw >120W per lamp, you'll need a computer PSU or similar.

              • @coxymla: Don't LEDs usually need a constant current driver to avoid thermal runaways?

                • +1

@krisspy: These should have a driver internal to them. They are supposed to run off 12V accessory power of a car which is pretty garbage.

                  • +1

@coxymla: 12v car accessory is higher amperage though. Amps multiplied by Volts equals Watts. At a minimum you'll need 12v, 10 amp per lamp, but you don't want to be running your supply at max.

                    • +1

@TheJoker: Sure, but even an old cheap ATX PSU from the spares box is gonna be fine delivering 240W.

                      • @coxymla: You're correct. I replied to the wrong person

      • Hi, is it XTM Plug N Play Wiring Harness? Thanks

      • Do you have a link for this please

    • -2

      I'm wondering also
Can it be modded for on my e scooter.
Is 6.2kg to heavy for the handlebars? Or will the larger battery required counter balance them enough 🤔

      • Not sure why you got downvoted, probably from a road safety concern. The reality is that these lights are way too powerful and aren't designed to be headlights used in a typical urban road situation. Fairly sure they're illegal (they dont have the ability to point them low enough, and they would have too much scatter that it wouldn't be possible to use these in a way that it wouldn't blind oncoming cars or other road users.

that said, I have the below lights on my e-scooter, currently only using one, as it is bright enough, although it is still a bit scattery, so I only use it when it is really dark. I wired it into my headlight circuit and added an appropriately sized in line fuse. i welded a custom bracket and attached it to my front fork with bolts. it's a bit clunky but it works when I need it to, as the stock headlights are garbage on scooters.

  • 50 bucks for a pair seems cheap

    • +23

My wife's pair cost $12.5k. I was ripped off.

      • +1

Add an audi or AMG badge and you got yourself a $5k spotlight

      • +3

Yes, you certainly won the booby prize for that one.

        • Honka honka

  • +1

    Great price for a pair!

  • Anyone found a spec sheet? Could be good if these will run off a 18V battery.

    • For what?

      • +1

        Fun.

      • 12-24v? you could mount these in your PC for some really cool case lighting

      • ?
It's part of the spec tab on the OP linked page.

        • Hah, I looked several times and managed to miss that the blue bar has "tabs" on it.

    • They will. The regulator is 12-24v.

  • +19

I have zero use for these. Purchased.

  • When there is such a big discount, I tend to have suspicion as to why.
One issue with low quality lights is water ingress, and I wonder if these have this problem?

    • These are good, $50 a bargain.

    • +2

Just picked up a set & ol mate said just running out of old units. Have been selling these for over 18mths will no/little returns. New pair was on shelf for $180 with a different led setup according to sales guy…. looked very similar imo.

    • I'm guessing they're being replaced.

  • +1

Bought two sets and with harnesses.
    Nfi what for lol
    Thanks OP

  • +1

My local store had an open night last night where all XTM was 50% off retail (plus other specials) and these exact lights were the headline special in the email for $20/pair.
The cynic in me wonders if these have inherent issues and they are clearing them out. Could just me an old model being cleared out though.

    • Ellenbrook? Only read the email at about 8PM last night and wondered if they would have even had stock left by then. Not that I need them, already have a Stedi light bar and spotties.

  • -2

Bugger. No stock at my local.
    $19.99 freight seems over priced……on a $50 item

  • +2

Shipping is 9.99 if you buy the bundle with the wiring harness for $99.99
    https://www.bcf.com.au/p/xtm-driving-lights-bundle-buy/PS-BC…

    • $19.99 shipping charge here

      • +1

It was to melbourne metro so it looks like they might have geo shipping for sure.

  • I signed up to get the $20 off for over $100 spend. Would this apply to this deal + something cheap?

Yet to receive the voucher though. Anyone know from experience how long it takes? Don't want to miss out on this deal and also get something worth $20 for free!

    • +1

Still waiting for the voucher as well but don't wanna miss out on the deal so have order without it.

      • +1

I got my voucher 5 mins after registering.
You did have to tick yes to email promotions to receive the voucher though. It did state it on the signup page.

    • +2

I signed up and received the voucher 5 minutes later then bought the lights, wiring harness and this to bring it to over $100 and the $20 voucher worked fine.

  • +7

Great deal, now I just need to buy a 4x4 to complete my installation.

    • +2

Cheaper to buy a nudge bar.

      • +3

Or something like this and install them. That is what I am going to do. I don't have a nudge bar or bullbar on my 4WD, so just going to take the lightbar off and then install these. Install the lightbar elsewhere.

        • Will that support the weight and avoid vibration?

        • I would buy this.

          • @jimojr: I had one of those on my VE and it stick out a bit. It was okay, but would look stupid on the ranger.

          • @jimojr: Can't have anything sticking out past the number plate mount moulding.
I literally touch the conveyor belt rubber I have screwed to the wall when I fit Ranger in garage.

  • +1

    No stock in Adelaide.

  • Gees, they're heavy. Probably the heatsink.

  • +4

    Didn’t need, but bought anyway..

Wish me luck while I diy something like this

    head lamp

    • +1

don't know what their idea of "lightweight" is, but one of these spotties is 3.1kg…

    • +2

      That's funny as…..

      Do post your after attempt

  • +1

Turned out I had $10 cresit so $40 for me. 3 others in line with them as I checked out. They are bigger than I imagined but they should fit inside the bullbar hoop I hope.

  • +1

Bought to replace the last set of VeryAverage BigRed spotties from their last clearance a few years past.
    Here's hoping their an improvement.
    Cheers OP.

  • My order for shipping isn't showing up in order history yet?

  • My order shipped today! Looks like from preston vic.

  • Running the King's 9" but these look cleaner. Wonder if they have the same Deutsch plug setup

    • Deutsch plug directly into the back of the light. 15mm x 12mm approx.

  • -4

Have attempted to buy 5 sets… scalping is fun. LOL

    • Hope no one misses out or you’re IT .

      3 comments this year…
And that's what you went with?

  • +2

    Bought a pair, cheers OP

    • +2

      Glad others got some aswell.

      • Don't even need em, but I had a $10 voucher and can't say no, might stick em on the tinny or something

        • +1

          True ozbargain way

  • +1

They have an xmt 41.5 inch lightbar for $59 and a 31.5 for $25 on clearance ,
which seems like great value aswell.

Personally I like having a lightbar at the rear incase of reversing tracks at night , and the sides too when looking for a campsite late .

  • +1

While looking around I noticed the 41.5 inch lightbar can be had cheaper again at $41.80 at Caravanretail.com . or get bcf to match or beat that price .

Pretty happy with the cheap light bars bought previously from bcf mounted on a landcruiser , can’t go wrong at that price but remember for every cheap powered accessory you get , the autolecy will want $100 minimum to install.
So grab a piggyback wiring harness too and diy .
    Edit.
Looks like Tweed Heads and Ballina only place near seq with stock of this bar ..

If anyone is interested, I have published a Dashcam video of these lights in action. Installed as per an article I have written

    • +1

I like your High Beams Issue video… "You want high beams on mate, there's the (profanity) high beams!"

      • Hahahaha, that was before the spotlights. Could you imagine that moment with the spotlights now?

  • Interesting that these are still available at the offer price 3 weeks later. Either they massively over ordered or they're a bit suss in the manufacturing dept and they want rid of them.
