False advertising. 100% NOT a down jacket. Contains 0% down.
    "insulation: 11 g/ft2 ThermoBall Eco 100% post-consumer recycled polyester"

    • +1

The title could be formatted a little better, but there are two separate jackets (both priced at $140).
There's the ThermoBall Eco (red) which is not down, but there's also the Belleview Stretch Down Jacket (blue or brown) which is actually a down jacket, linked in the description.

Fair point. Clicking on "go to deal" goes only to the NON down product.

  • How warm would this be vs Uniqlo's Ultra Light Down options?

      • +3

Although it works in the same way as down—body heat gets trapped by the fibers’ loft—synthetic insulation in general is less warm, heavier, and less compressible than down. Further, over time, it gets packed out and loses its ability to loft, resulting in a shorter lifespan than down.

I see the tossers are down voting facts again……

      • Deal or no deal…..I don't care….just don't go claiming it's "down" when it's not because "REAL" down jackets cost hundreds more than this.

          • +1

@WhatsThisThenSlaat: Look, all I am asking is for honesty in the deal. The OP claims it's a down jacket, i.e. filled with actual down feathers. It's not. It's synthetic.

Maybe the "down" vote is for the "down" jacket? :)

  • Brown one is $450 on The iconic ( currently has 30% off to bring it down to $300ish). Much better photos of the product though

    • Can't be the same jacket. RRP is $200 yet you reckon the Iconic is selling it for $450?

      No way

      • I have noticed that Anaconda doesn’t seem to put the correct RRP on some brands

  • As someone that actually uses these types of jackets for outdoor activities, this is a quality product.

This is much warmer than my usual Arcteryx Atom AR or Proton LT. It's also more water repellent than my Uniqlo Ultra Light down parka.
It's an inbetween jacket. Water repellent factor isn't as great as Arcteryx but will definitely keep you warm (even warmer than the Uniqlo) but is more of a belay jacket or "sitting around a campfire" jacket. I've tried bouldering in it and it gets way too hot with minimal stretch.

"This is much warmer than my usual Arcteryx Atom AR"

Are you ok? You're comparing a shell against a Jacket. Yea my 23 year old Arctyrex Beta LT SHELL isn't as warm as this but guess what….. IT'S A SHELL.

I have no idea what you are trying to prove. My Mammut shell isn't as warm either……

I can tell you though that my Superdry down jacket which is 90% down and 10% feather is warmer than my shells and probably a LOT warmer than the OP post.

Atom AR and Proton Lt aren't shells. I have an Alpha SV and a Zeta AR - those are shells

        • Sorry mate.

          Apologies. I miss read.

I stand corrected. Good to know someone else appreciates decent gear.

@Homerlovesbeer: Are you ok? You seem to be getting pretty excited about this Jacket?

          • +1

@Homerlovesbeer: Ahahaha…all good. I ordered one anyway. I don't have it in red and the last time I bought a 2.0, it was around $300. So this is a bargain

OK to keep everyone happy it's being renamed to The Light-Sprinkle North Face Men's Belleview Not-so-Stretchy Plastic-Down Campfire Jacket

      • +2

        This is what we need.

  • My order was cancelled by Anaconda. The large was out of stock

    • Sorry to hear, your comments were helpful in me ordering a M, which I've received a tracking number for :(
