Did anyone else get charged the next day by uber eats for adjustments?

I used a $30 off groceries for $50 spend, from Coles.
All went well.
But next day I got charged an extra $22 for an added uber eats adjustment.
It doesn't say what it's for.
Hmm?

Obviously Uber eats support referred OP to Australia's leading bargain forum site for the most definitive answer.

Pretty sure no uber eats support exists.

Did you order anything that is sold by weight rather than a fixed price?

  • +2

were the prices on the groceries different than what you had ordered?

That seems like an excessive adjustment. have you contacted support.

In before OP realises that the spouse ordered extra groceries.

Did they spend the minimum $50?

The deal thread had a few people stitched up. I nearly was last week as well - I kept an eye on what items the driver had gotten and one item was out of stock. Messaged and said I'd give him a $5 tip if he went and got an extra of another item and he luckily did. Total cost was then $52 and I got the $30 off.

    • I'm fairly certain this is the right answer.

    • How do you know what items the driver has picked up?

  • Never happened to me. Didn't the receipt contain the details of all individual item prices, promotion, etc?

  • I know Uber Eats has same in store prices for Coles now too, but when I use DD and they refund an item that wasn't in stock it doesn't charge me extra for not meeting the minimum spend for free delivery anymore. But I've never used a coupon.

    Update:
I ordered 3 24 pack water, and 24 pack coke.
I received 30 pack coke instead.
    Total was $52.
I just got a refund because I complained about the extra $22 fee, and also got a $5 voucher.

  • Oo I was about to do the $30 off $50 shop today, now I dunno if I should risk it. Is it the store that picks the items or the uber driver?

    • I would say the store staff 😅

      • https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/14222674/redir looked like ue driver but I dno 😂 I was like I'd feel super bad if it was the ue driver doing the shop for like $8

        • Yeah it was the driver. By the time they got the job and delivered it to my door it was easily 45 minutes. Honestly felt pretty bad for them. Even with the $5 tip they likely only made $12-15.

They did take 20 minutes to get all eight items - but I suppose they spend time looking for the exact items, and in my case an out of stock item.

          • @SnowDragon: How did they pass the items to you? I'm buying heavy stuff like 3L milks lol not sure if they'd just leave each stuff on the door at. Maybe I'll leave a box outside the door…

            • @MeesusEff: They bought a Coles bag for all the stuff and left it at the front door.

              • @SnowDragon: Mine did come in 3 spudshed bags… So im still not sure if it was an staff or UE driver as i wasnt charged for the bags lol

        • Oh my mistake. When I used uber eat for IGA grocery shopping, the staff called me advising the unavailability of an item. Wait, or was he the driver? I am not so sure now.
