Is There a Way to Remotely Login to an iPhone for Tech Support?

Hey guys,

Looking for a method to be able to login to an iPhone from another device, whether it be from another iPhone, or an Android phone, or even a Windows PC.

My grandma calls me every night with her tech woes, which always take 60 seconds to fix - its just getting to her that can take a while lol.
Would be an absolute lifesaver to be able to login remotely.

Any suggestions much appreciated, TIA!

  • Switch Control works on same WiFi network: https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT205644

Teamviewer might work for you if not: https://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/ios/

I use FaceTime screenshare feature for my grandparents. It works with iOS to iOS devices.

She calls you cause she is lonely

  • edit: I assumed OP had googled it, but apparently not. Plenty of answers there. I don't think Grandma is calling him for tech support.

  • AnyDesk runs on Android/iOS along with most other OSes and it allows for full cross-OS compatibility so that for example a Windows PC can remotely control an iPhone or vice versa.

It's free for personal use and really simple to get running (there's a portable executable for Windows and no installation is required so you just open up AnyDesk, enter an ID and have the remote device accept the connection request. The iPhone just needs to download the AnyDesk app from the App Store, open up the app and quote you the device's ID).

Remind grandma often that if anyone else calls asking for AnyDesk access it's a scam.

Company names scammers use include Amazon, nbn, PayPal, Telstra, Norton, McAfee and Microsoft.

They are great scammers to string along. You just have to take your time performing the fake install. I just said my computer kept rebooting. Entertained me for a good 40 minutes and they never once realised I was driving or asked why my indicators were on occasionally.

They asked me to repeat the AnyDesk code 10 times after I said I have 500k (not really) in my Commonwealth Bank account. They gave up and asked for my username and password. 1 hour later… Are you joking with me? Get wrecked son.

@Twix: Next time told then this is just an everyday account - for bills, etc. You have savings account as well :)

            • @localhost: I will if they call back. I haven't had a call in the 6 months since.

I told a scammer I would be right back and left the phone (wireless landline) sitting in the quiet bathroom for hours. Eventually he hung up and kept calling back over and over, screaming at me, cussing at me, he was furious. I've heard they can't terminate a call themselves or it gets logged, or maybe he really did wait for like 40 minutes. But whatever happened it really wounded him. I hope he still thinks about it sometimes, wherever he is in India right now, whatever he's doing with his life.

            @AustriaBargain:

            quiet bathroom

I feel like it would have been a better experiment if it was sitting in a much busier, perhaps noisy bathroom instead, say at Taco Bell and see how long they last on the phone 😂
