  • Air Canada? No!

    • why? bad airline? bad seats? stop overs?

      • They’re fine. Better than budget airlines, not trying to be Etihad/emirates. Foods ok but nothing special. Flight attendants were all really nice.

Seats were a bit tighter than I’d have liked. Premium economy isn’t much better than economy but had a bit of a jump in price from memory

They had the Sydney to Vancouver route stitched up though so you didn’t see much in the way of discounts (and why I think this is a good price).

Qantas was the only other airline to fly direct but only during snow season. Outside of that you had to fly Air Canada or go through the US. Looks like Qantas started flying 3 days a week all year round now which is maybe bringing prices down? Not sure

Direct to Vancouver is best because the other options are stops in SFO or LAX from memory. You have to clear US customs in one or both to get onto the next leg despite only transiting so it was a bit of a hassle

Should add this was a 777. The 787 might be newer/nicer/roomier

      • Not my own experience, but my friends'. The flight was seriously delayed so they missed the connecting one. When they asked to change the flight, the staff were very rude and arrogant. The services were poor as well. Just check the reviews of Air Canada on TripAdvisor, ProductReview, SkyTrax and you will have a clue.

  • Good price. I paid $1800 back in 2017

  • I'm looking at flights to Toronto for June 2024. There's flights listed for around $1,700 on your website through Budget Air with Air Canada. It is nearly half the price of the flights direct through Air Canada. How safe and reliable is it booking through these third parties? How can they offer these flights for so much less?

    • If you are flying with Air Canada, then probably best to go direct. I tried to contact them for missing points and haven't heard from them ever again. I can't call them since I need international calling. I emailed them but it is already 1 month of no response.

    • I lost more than $1500 in airfares through budget air due to Covid cancellations. Avoid at all costs.

  • +2

Vancouver … hotel rooms can be found at bargain rates

    Relative bargain at best

  • Bushfire still ongoing?

    • they will not be going by christmas I can assure you

  • Good prices but keep in mind these are the miserable weather months in Vancouver. Still fun stuff to do over there, especially if you like hiking and the outdoors. I took the wife and kids last October to visit family and we had a lot of fun (Kids loved the real big Halloween) but it was fairly cold the whole time and we had to plan/delay some activities due to snow when visiting places up in the mountains like Kelowna or Whistler.

  • Their economy seats seemed tight. Worse than American.
