Ok I frequently cross this particular pedestrian crossing and recently noticed a camera/ sensor. Anyone can tell me what it is? Is it like one of those things in China where it can detect the person and auto fine for jaywalking?

Figures. They've got one at a crossing near me and it's not really sensitive enough - had it end a crossing early on me at least twice so far. It's annoying because you get used to the dead time, but this will leave me stuck in the middle of the road with a green given to cars :/
