  • Airline neck pillow or travel/camping pillow?

    • Good to have options for both

I have Thermarest Compressible Pillow Cinch in a couple of sizes, they're excellent and widely regarded. I don't travel with a neck pillow due to the turtleneck vibe.

  • I've used a few styles, depends how you like to sleep:

try and avoid black colour so you don't accidentally leave on plane (I've done that before when super jetlagged)

      Cheeky

  • 1 for each cheek maybe

Few brands to check out depending on what sort of travel pillow you prefer.

    • Cabeau for those U shaped ones
    • Trtl for neck brace style
    • Dot&Dot Twist Memory Foam if you want to bend it to different shapes

I’ll second the Carbeau recommendation for a u shaped pillow

For an inflatable pillow I use an Exped one (bought it 10 years ago when it was one of the best ones you can get but think there’s better options these days). I’m still very happy I’m with it

A brand that tends to do everything well, light and small to pack is Sea To Summit. Their stuff costs a bit when when space and weight is a premium they’re good

As a someone who has neck issues my pick when traveling is an inflatable pillow. The shaped ones aren’t comfortable on a flight and only have so many uses. Inflatable are more useful and pack better. By inflatable I mean this style:

Also if you do go with a neck/ushape Pillow wear it backwards too becaus it supports your neck when you’re nodding off plus you don’t have your head uncomfortably against the back of the seat.

  • My first travel pillow was the thermarest, really comfortable and doesn't take much space after rolling it up tightly. The only downside is you will need something to lean on, e.g. needing a window seat on the plane or bus.

For flights, a u-shaped pillow like this is my go to. The memory foam is comfortable and I can clip it under my chin. My neck is fully supported and the pillow won't move around. Clipping it does make it very tight around your neck though so it may not be comfortable for everyone.

  • Third for the Cabeau Evolution. Bought one a year or so ago and it's so great. Would definitely recommend.

I use a Trtl travel pillow
Kmart have ripped them off and have a $10 version

I've been happy to just use the pillow provided by the airline. That, and the adjustable headrest, seemed to work fine.

    • aka Adjustable Neck Breaker if you are over 6ft
