Firmest Mattress in a Box? Something Like Tempur or Better!

Hello ozb mattress experts!

Wanting recommendations for a firm feeling mattress in a box for the following:
• Double bed
• Double trundle (18.5cm height limit) – low profile design

Re Double bed
We have a Tempur Traditional 23 King and a Tempur Luna Supreme Firm Queen and very happy with these mattresses. Wondering if there is any Mattress in Box available with same/similar (or better!) in feeling?

Re Double trundle (18.5cm height limit) – low profile design
Wanting recommendations for a firm feeling low profile mattress in a box for a double trundle.
Specifically needing it low profile to suit a trundle bed (double size) with the following internal dimensions: 188.5cm L 138cm W 17cm H
There is a 3cm gap between the top of the trundle and base of above bed, so max allowable height is 20cm.
However to allow for bedding prefer to not go above 18.5cm in mattress height. The sides of the trundle are 17cm high so preference is for 15cm-18.5cm options may suit best.
Alternatively happy to consider a foam core futon if no low profile mattress in a box options around.

Have a look at ergoflex. Pretty firm and constructed similar to a Tempur.

    • 100% agree.

I'd do everything within my power to TRY and buy from these guys - genuinely great products and make an effort to ensure you know exactly what you're getting, why you're getting it and that you're a happy customer afterwards. The owner posts here and what he writes shows it's sincere and not some mass produced junk.

  • I have the zzz atelier super firm mattress, $360 for a king. It's been good for me.

  • I sleep on Tempur and have Koala and Emma for guests. Comfort is a subjective thing but I feel the massive price difference makes mattress-in-a-box wholly satisfactory.

  • Aldi ones are amazing

  • Are Tempur's firm? Not according to CHOICE, who test objectively not anecdotally. For example, Tempur Original Prima Carina 19 CoolTouch review

    Bad points
    • Advertised firmness does not match test results.
    • Noticable loss in firmness over time (scores less than 50%)

Zensleep hybrid feels pretty firm for me. Koala definitely wouldn't suit you

Didn't even bother to respond to anyone kindly trying to help on your previous post from 9 hours ago. That's poor form.

    • Where do you find fitted sheet sets to properly fit low profile mattresses? The fitted sheet on the Zzz Atelier mattress in the guest room bunches after a couple of nights sleep.

  • Thank you for all the comments and suggestions so far. Might give ergoflex a go

  • Any recommendations for a low profile (max height 18.5cm) mattress in a box to suit a trundle bed?

  • Tried zenna latex and we felt it was too soft, now on the ecosa align firm which is ok may be a little too firm. Both 20cm height.

    • Thanks Pok, I‘ve also tried Zenna and found it too soft and springy. Felt like a major downgrade from Tempur.

Did you have any issues returning it or smooth and easy process?

      • Still in the process, pick up took about a week or so and was only informed on the morning of but otherwise was ok. Waiting on the refund to be issued.

  • Egoflex are soft. There aren't many firm mattresses, objectively measured. But I suppose that if you think the Tempur is firm you will think an Egoflex is firm too.

    • Thanks shaybisc

Just watched this review which also confirms it's soft feeling:

We are very happy with our Tempur Traditional (firm feeling) and Tempur Luna Supreme Firm. Both of these mattresses feel dense and solid but also comfortable and supportive. Looks like I'll have to stick with Tempur for now and aim to find an equivalent feeling option in their new range
