It’s a good price for an iPhone 6 with a software upgrade

      • TIL an A15 Bionic Chipset is merely an A8 in disguise

    • +1

      So much more value

      • +1

It gets 5+ major OS releases, does it? Is it even going to make it to Android 14? Lmao

      Lol

The number of fandroids who keep referring to sheep is a lot, almost as if they are sheep themselves, parroting the same unoriginal bullshit.

    • +3

Do Fandroids dream of electric sheep?

    • +10

Lol at the hypocrisy of you still giving shit about what phone other people use in the current year.

      • -4

Well when you friends on apple whinge about youtube having ads and spotify not to mention basic apps you have to pay for on apple and cant download movie and streaming apps yeah. Current year? LOL

        • youtube having ads

Wow I can't believe people have to pay for the content you consume!!1! Just get Android and pirate it all, that's such a gr8 model

          • -1

@ThithLord: Hang on. Are you advocating for ads? And against free stuff? On ozbargain? Does anyone here not pirate stuff? Free is a bargain the last time I checked. And ads suck! Get brave browser on Apple store. Become a naughty time pirate.

            • @Zoroaster: I 'king hate ads, hence I pay for YT Premium. Got a grandfathered family plan that has all the bells & whistles

Awful phones but they know people don't care and just want an iPhone.

    • Hell hath no fury like an Android baby on an Apple post.

      • It's just a bad phone, nothing to do with Android.

        • +5

A15 Bionic still holds up greatly, device will get major OS updates for years, interoperability with the ecosystem is unparalleled in Android. Plus, y'know, you actually get customer support with Apple if there are any issues.

    • I wouldn't say awful. Just way over priced. I would buy one in a second for $299.

  • 4.7 inch screen. Ha!

Its an iPhone; Best "iPhone SE" ever. /s

  • does anyone know if david joens will price match this?

    • YMMV, but I don't think they price match Costco

I had a previous SE2 model. Nice small phone, but i found the lack of low light camera mode really annoying.
Im assuming they still cripple the night mode on these?

For me , the updates and the ease of getting repairs done makes the over the top prices worthwhile.

Got a Samsung repaired once under warranty and it was a nightmare to deal with the retailer, the third party repair company, and Samsung. None of them seemed to have any idea what the other was doing.
It didnt get sorted till i got fair trade involved.
Others might have had different experiences with Samsung , but it made me appreciate apple having physical stores.

  • Yep! Samsung is really the pinnacle of poor warranty services, at least in Australia. I've had so many issues with them (and it didn't help that most of the folks in the family were using Samsung smartphones at one point in time), and nearly every time have come away disappointed when in need of repairs within warranty (which were astonishingly high for them).

  • I'm not sure if they are selling the 3rd gen but you can get 2nd hand 2nd gen used at Reebelo with 2 year accidental damage for quite cheap as well $355 + shipping.

The ones I've bought all came with 3rd party exterior backplate/casing/whatever it's called. Batteries were quite good as well, I think they may be replaced as part of the refurb. You can get battery cases though which make them last much longer than standard, original battery is just 1821mah and the case/battery is 5500mah:

  • This should seriously be $299. I know, everyone hates on the se, but they would still be making massive profits on this device at $299. It be very hard to argue with as a purchase.

You can buy iPhone 6's for around $149 with their A8 Chipset - why would something with a chipset 7 Gen's later be worth just $299 to you?

The SE will receive OS updates for at least a few more years. The A15 is still a fantastic chipset (I have an iPhone 12 mini with the same chipset)

      • Maybe $299 was a little low. $399 gets you a new pixel 6a. Which is so much more than the iPhone se. I realise a lot of people want an iPhone. So its priced high as there is no other option. But if your gonna go out just after a solid small phone on a budget then the 6a has so much more value, even if the iPhone se was $299.

Google's Tensor chip is no match for the A15 Bionic.

What if you want OS updates for longer than three years? I believe Google only guarantees 3 major OS updates, right?

What if you need support with the device? Where do you go with a Pixel?

What if you don't want your entire usage of the device being sold as advertising data?
