Thanks for sharing op! Hopefully this is state wide or even national

    • Yeah hopefully. It was not in the catalogue, and it is not available in other IGA brands.

very good price, but i've stocked up for the year from the last woolworth sale

I do similar! Although it's not usually necessary to buy a year's worth because they are half price at least 4 times a year

    • idk if you guys are trolling but don't they go off?

      • +1

Depends how much you eat and ice cream can take up to around a year to expire. If you have the guts to resist temptation and over eating + have freezer space, it makes sense to buy ice cream in bulk while it's on sale.

      • This is OzBargain.

Why is it that farfetched to believe people do this?

        but don't they go off?

Ice-cream expiry dates are more than just a year.

I do the same with Much Moore icecream tubs. And stock-up on Bonsoy Soy Milk once a year to carry me through the year.

          Madness utter madness.

If there's ice cream in my house I will eat it breakfast lunch and dinner until it's gone.

It's like the one true ring, I'm never not thinking about the ice cream in the freezer.

Be damned if I'll keep the stuff in the house.

      • Unopened ice cream has a long shelf life. Just checked a Connoisseur tub and it had May 2025 best before. And that's a best before not use by date. The issue with storing ice cream for a while is the breakdown of flavour molecules and consistency issues rather than bacterial growth. It becomes a matter of taste rather than safety.

The biggest risk is a freezer fault or a power outage. Which is why I only buy a few months worth at a time

  • Not available at my IGA in Bowraville 😭 otherwise i woulda cracked the chest freezer out and stocked up lol. Great price though!

Thats an IGA plus. This deal appears ro be IGA local only. Will check out another IGA local and report back if this deal is available.

      • Ohhhh ok. Well that makes sense lol. Thanks for the heads up! Appreciate it very much! 😀

        • It appears it may be limited to IGA Local Epping NSW only or select stores.

Not $5 at IGA Local Newtown Sydney. Its $12.50.

          • @Crownanchor: It's $13.00 at my IGA. Different areas, different prices…. Oh well. I might get a deal others may not. What goes around, comes around.
Thanks again for checking mate 😀

Surprised nobody has said “it’s a ScAm! ThIs sHOuLd be NoRMal PriceE!

    • My HECS went up 7% it’s a ScAm! ThIs sHOuLd be NoRMal PriceE

  • My IGA was full price. Localised deal!

    • It’s a SCAM!!

      • It's a trap!

  • TIL there is an IGA in Epping

    • Same, I never knew till now. Those new apartments on the other side sure bringing some new shops

  • I couldn't see Macha Green Tea amongst the flavours in the photo.
OP, do you know if they stock that one at Epping?

    • +1

I dont think so in the 1L tub. As it seems there was only a small section of Connoisseur as shown in the photo, that was all there was in the range.

      • Thanks for the confirmation Crownanchor - saves me a trip out there :-)

I work at an IGA, and they don't do nationwide specials like colesworth because they're independently owned. So it's up to each owner to decide what the specials are each week.

The IGA in OP's post appears to be a Mint Fresh IGA, so the deals are only going to be available at IGAs with the Mint Fresh branding. Those are the ones in Baulkham Hills, Toongabie, Westleigh and Epping.
