You may even feel a little bit nostalgic, remembering childhood summers spent chasing after the ice cream truck or enjoying a cone with friends and family

I’ve enjoyed a cone with friends but have yet to have a cone with family.

      I enjoyed the joke. +

Nice, more for me! Love melon flavoured desserts!

      Thanks OP :)

    • +5

I was skeptical when I first heard of them also, but these are one of the best and most refreshing ice creams around! Do try it!

    • +1

Speak for yourself only lmao. Clueless

  • +7

As a non korean, these are the best. I love them.
It was weird to try for the first time because it’s not a flavour that I’ve had before. But it’s so good.

    • +2

      You've not had honeydew fruit?

      • +1

No i meant that flavour in an icecream. I’ve had honeydew melon but not as a dessert.

      • +1

Ooo I do like honeydew. Maybe I shall try. When in the mood I can smash half a melon quicksmart haha.

        • Yeah, if for some reason you don't have access to honeydew or similar fresh fruit, then this is probably the next best thing. 😂

    • Yeah. I picked these up once cos they were cheap, and agree they're good.

  • I can't find any stock in Brisbane northside :(

    • +2

Large Asian supermarkets should have them. There's even strawberry, banana, mango, coconut and ube flavours, but I find melon the best (although not tried all flavours yet…haven't seen the last two in the wild).

Only one store in the south has it, eight mile plains.

Remove sticks and add to blender with soju (or vodka)…🤤

    • +1

      Now you're talking.

Seen people do vodka or gin. With apples, oranges, lollipops, and gummy worm lollies.

    • I'm going to try this!

    • Drinking a double shot vodka one now, it's like more potent, but less melon-y Midori…not sure if it's something I'll keep doing 😂

Can’t find stock anywhere ☹️ (Sunshine Coast)

  • Is it an ice cream or simply an icy bar? That second word changes the game totally. You may want to fix the description if it's not correct. Personally, I like full cream milk ice cream.. sorbet has never done justice for me. Everyone is different though, and there's definitely a market (though smaller) for non-milk based frozen desserts.

    • +1

It contains milk, but is not that creamy…hard to explain.

      • I see.. will give it a try then.

      • +2

There is no milk. It's water and sugar

    • It's due to the ice cream naming conventions in Korea. If it's on a stick they're mostly called "bars", dairy content is not really considered in that decision.

    • Definitely not sorbet

    • It's just a flavoured sugar and lots of artificial stuff

  • +1

    This is so good!
On another note, wishing the mochi version to be released in Australia soon!

Disappointed. Went to two stores (South Yarra and Toorak) that showed stock but actual product nowhere to be found in-store. Spoke to staff at both and they confirmed system showing stock but product is not in the freezer at all. At least staff were very helpful and apologetic about the misleading stock info - they were equally confused as their back-end systems definitely showed stock. The staff member at South Yarra said he hadn't seen that product in the two years he worked there. So weird!

  • Haven't had one of these in so long, didn't even know Woolies sold em

  • May contain traces of milk

Water, Sugar, Corn Syrup, Coconut Oil, Bulking Agent: (E1200), Dehydrated Oat Syrup (Enzymatically- Modified) (Cereals Containing Gluten) Flavourings, Waxy Corn Starch, Emulsifiers, (E410; E471; E407), Melon Syrup 0.14% (Melon Puree 70%), Stabilizers: (E466; E412) Salt, Colours (E100; E133)

    Enjoy!

    • Wow, I swear it has a slightly milky flavour 😳

    • Mmmmm just like grandma used to make em

Sweet poison. Eat at your own risk.

      • +1

What is in these that is worse than your average streets ice cream?

        • -1

          Read the ingridients

          • @bob19: I did. it was the same shit that other ice creams.

Or were trying to make that point that ice cream isnt healthy? 😲

            • @ellos: Hmm they all have corn syrup, eh? Reckon more E's too.

  • +3

I remember eating like 5 of these on a Korean Air flight

    Was so addictive lol

    • wow…just for that fact alone,
makes me want to fly Korean Air next time

      • +1

        Korean Air is really good.

After your meal you can also ask for cup noodles on top.

I had 2 extra as well.

        • ask for cup noodles

          wow

  • I love these. Will drop into woolies just to get some :)

Warning: Read the ingidients before you buy

This is OzBargain — addicted to E-numbers, Dominos and KFC!

  • do discounts apply at metro stores?

  • Every time I've bought these korean ice creams (Melona & Lavelee Watermelon Ice Flake) from woolworths they've always been melted and refrozen. Annoyingly it was no different today.

  • +2

This flavour is derived from the removed melanomas from sunburnt Australian's. It's quite a unique flavour and non-carcinogenic.

  • The koreans definitely know how to make good ice cream!!!!!

  • If you enjoy the taste of melon

    I do !

  • +4

If you're in Melbourne, there's an asian grocer called Tang (Address: 185 Russell St, Melbourne VIC 3000).

    It's always $4.50 there

  • found some in campsie, they are pretty good.
