  • i bought a battery chainsaw last time and still need to find something to use it for. just bought it because it was an ozbargain.

the ozbargain motto is getting me in trouble:

    Buy first, think second.

Willing to bet a bunch of people that live in apartments with no trees in sight, got some of them.

      • for sure, what else are they going to cut there bonsai trees with?

Will this produce enough smoke to kill my neighbour?

  • With the wind in Melbourne today I'd be grabbing one of these.

Serious note, these are a good saw and a steal at this price. It has a lot of the perks of a pro saw without the finicky gripes of running one, I'll use this more than the husky especially when it comes to cutting up dirty firewood. Keep it clean and keep it sharp and it'll last you years, just don't forget the bar & chain oil and 2 stroke oil.

I hope this to be the case but considering how things are built today id be surprised if it last more than 2 or 3yr.

Not having a go at you, more of a gripe that things aren't made to last and cheap plastic seems to usually be the issue.

      • +1

The issue is usually when people store them away and don't drain out the remainder of the petrol causing the plastic fuel lines to degrade and the carby to gum up. Had mine a few years now and the case has maybe faded a little but it's still completely functional but I store my stuff away too. I've seen the Ozito chainsaw cases turn to crap so I know what you mean there but the Ryobi's seems to be made a lot better than that, it's no Husqvarna or Stihl but I'd put it on par with maybe a McCulloch, Poulan or Makita chainsaw.

  • Loganholme was showing 1 in stock so I rang he said a heap of people have rang but these haven't been available for a long time, they are suspended apparently.

  • Found and bought one. I have a couple of trees to get rid of so hopefully it is up to the job.

Nice. That stock website is great

  • just ordered one from Torquay for delivery to Footscray

A Trade account gives you to option to choose delivery instead of having to click and collect. :)

    • How do I do that? I'm logged into power pass and I can't get the page to allow me to

    https://www.allaboutmowers.com.au/cart/display/2--stihl-ms-1… = $269

Can be found for $250, this chainsaw is great value, workhorse also great for newbies due to the short bar (can still cut big ironbarks)
