Panasonic TH-L47ET5A 47" LED 2D/3D TV [REFURB] - $918 Delivered

21

I was looking at another deal on the same TV @ $1300 (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/78143).

Found this in my research. Sure it's a refurb, but that's just under %30 (or $382) off.

It arrived through the week in perfect condition and loving it.

It's a second item with the actual example you receive potentially full of scratches or dints. And most importantly it will be out of warranty before Christmas. At least most refurbished stuff listed on here has at least 12 month warranty provided with it but 3 months is way too short for the price they are asking.

The other deal you linked to also had 4 3D glasses included. JB Hifi have it for $1271 delivered now with the 4 glasses, with full manufacturer warranty plus years of statutory warranty.

    • Yeah fair call - I'm not someone who cares too much about warranty as I've never actually used it. Generally these things follow the bathtub curve and either break right away or much later when they're as good as obsolete.

This one does include the 4 pairs of glasses though, not sure why they haven't put that on the listing. It's also passive 3D, so it works with the ones you get when you see something at the cinema.

  • Yeah, avoid this. You'd be throwing away $918 rather quickly. Factory refurbished should have more than 3 months warranty. I like the passive 3D idea.

  • I agree with pmupsinep with warranty period should be least the standard the model normally comes with.
I brought factory refurbished stuff but came with the full manufacturer warranty. I would be wary of one supplied by the store.
