  • Could I use these for in-game purchases? Like Fortnite V-Bucks for example…

    • +2

      Yeah, my son does this.

  • Hey everyone, plenty of stock (30+ 60$) at Coles Ramsgate 2217 as of this morning 6:30am

  • Plenty of 60's left at Box Hill Central. Picked one up on my way to the train station. 15's and 30's were much more scarce, seems like a trend based on the different Coles stores, I guess if you want the smaller denominations get in quick.

  • +1

Does a Nintendo account still have a max balance limit? Used to be $300 or so I thought.

  • Lots of stock for all denominations at Crows Nest and Lane Cove in NSW. Store reps enforcing the 5 max limit though.

  • Just bought 5 x $60 at Coles Toowong and plenty of stock

  • +1

got mine $48.00 for A $60.00 one great thanks op

  • It’s happeningggggg

  • It’s happeningggg

  • Great post, thanks OP! Managed to grab some this morning.

  • I got 3 x $100 cards at my local Coles the other day. My kid was a bit confused as to what I was doing

    • +4

Haven’t seen the $100 denominations before, what character is on it?

      • actually, sorry.. was 3 x $60 cards

  • only 20 and 30s left at melb central as of 820am 👀

  • Got some from parramatta Westfield l5. Still decent amount of stock for all denominations

    • I was just there at 11am and still all denominations available, which surprised me

  • I just got 6 x $60 GCs at Coles West End, there weren't that many in stock though. There was a long queue of cars outside, not quite sure if they were all there to get some cards but you guys better hurry up. Btw they didn't ask for any ID nor checked my name so I am just assuming I could easily go back and get more but I am not that ambitious:), good luck.

    • Sorry, I meant to say '5' not 6, my bad.

  • Does anyone know the expiry dates on these? Prior to loading them onto eshop credit.

    • +3

According to the T&Cs in the back, it says 'Card balance does not expire, and there are no fees associated with the card. This card is non-reloadable'.

I hope that answers your question.

  • -8

Ever since i got steam deck, switch has been completely useless lol but otherwise this would have been an amazing deal for me

  • Epic fail in CBD. Scanned at full price and then staff didn't know how to fix it so pulled all the signage down and removed all the GCs lol

    • Do you need to scan flybuys?

      • No you don't, I didn't scan it (cuz ain't got the card) and I still got the discount, however, you can't pay at the self-checkout ones, u gotta go to a cashier.

        • +5

I just went to through self checkout about 15 minutes ago. Cashier had to come over to approve it, but after that I was able to pay no problem

  • Completely empty rack of Nintendo GC's at Coles Sanctuary Lakes, Point Cook at 8.40am. How is that possible ?!

  • -2

can I use this to buy Nintendo Switch from estore

  • Just picked up $105 worth of cards at Coles Woolloongabba… bunch of cards left as of 9am.

  • Plenty of stock at chipping Norton nsw 2170

  • Heaps of stock of all three denominations at Blackburn North, VIC.

  • +1

Definitely can’t use a gift card that requires barcode scanning (like Prezzee) to pay for these gift cards.

  • +2

Plenty at Fairfield West 2165, Lady at register allowing more than 5.

  • Fat stack of 20-30 of each denomination still left at the Sunshine Coast Plaza Coles in Maroochydore, even after getting my 5x$60 😃

  • Im new to the Switch. Checked the e store. Theres stuff all games to buy?

    • Yes but digital is usually full price and sales on the eshop are hard to come by

      • So cartridges on amazon for example are cheaper? I dont see the point of the estore, what am i missing?

        • +1

Some of us prefer digital for convenience/no game swapping (Play Ring Fit Adventure/Fitness Boxing daily and you'll get sick of this)

A lot of us take advantage of the NSO voucher system, in which you can buy a pair of vouchers to be redeemed on any (Most) 1st party Nintendo games,

As a rough breakdown the vouchers cost $135 and you get $6.75 store credit back for buying one; so getting a voucher 20% cheaper ($108) and then factoring in the digital cashback ($108-$6.75) gives us $101.25 expenditure more or less for a pair of vouchers using this coles deal, or ~$50.63Aud for a new AAA from the store.

Not bad considering new releases are $80 on the store (Or $90 for stuff like ToTK) and rarely get much of a discount if ever.

  • Got $180 cheers. Was just gonna buy 2 $60s but then thought how often is there a 20% off deal

    • +3

Every decade at this point haha

    • +1

If this deal went live last week I probably would have done the same.

Last week's direct added about 5-6 things to my wishlist though, so the max amount for NSO voucher efficiency for me 😅

  • Just tried to get 5 x $60 cards through self checkout at Coles Coles Raine Square (Perth CBD) and was told they weren't doing the deal. Woman hadn't even heard of it. Wouldn't come up with the discount..
I don't think it's considered a standard Coles store? Has branding "Coles Central"?

    • +3

Raine Square are often excluded from catalogue specials. I have been stung many times thinking I can pickup an item on special at lunch time.

      • Ah bugga. Thanks for confirming! Hopefully can grab them later today after work at a different Coles

    • +6

      That is hardly surprising.

If you read page 31 of the WA catalogue, it says:

Promotional products and prices may not be available at Coles Express, Coles online, Coles Local, Coles Gateway, Raine Square and North West Western Australia stores.

If you read page 43, it lists the terms and conditions of this gift card offer, which includes:

Offer valid only in store at Coles Supermarkets (excludes Coles Online, Coles Express and purchases via giftcards.com.au or coles.scanshoppay.com.au), subject to store availability.

The Coles website also lists the Raine Square store as Coles Central. Coles Central stores are not the same as Coles Supermarket stores.

Grabbed 5x$60 at Altona North Coles, they had plenty this morning but who knows.
Such a rare sale even my wife is saying we should grab more ha. Will use to grab Mario wonder+RPG via the game vouchers.

  • Bought 2 x $60 cards at Marsden Park NSW just now and they have about 5 or 6 of each one remaining. They didn't have any promotion stickers showing this though so I checked at the cash register. I'm mainly a physical collector so $120 will last me a year or two (probably enough till Switch 2 arrives!).

  • Do you get flybuys points on these purchases? Curious if you'd get 5x points if you stack with the Onepass membership

    • +1

      Coles isn't part of Onepass.

      • Doh im an idiot. Thanks lol

  • Lots of stock of all denominations at Pines 3109

  • +2

I just got one from Coles but go to enter the redeem points code and it doesn't accept it?? ANy idea where you enter the card code?

UPDATE : so looks like you had to do it from the switch eShop and not online via a browser. Money now added!

  • +1

Plenty available at North Sydney. All denominations.

  • Grabbed 5x $60 from Cairns Earlville Coles, there were tons of every denomination. The register did stop at 5 with a maximum limit reached message that had to be cleared by staff.

  • +1

Grabbed 4 x $60 and paid with the Vanilla Gift Cards which I bought in the last week. Plenty of stock at my local Coles

    • Was advised from staff, can't use GC to purchase these cards

      • +1

You don't use "gift card", you use "Credit card" option on the POS machine. On the PIN screen, just press Enter. Staff should be ready to give you a pen for signature.

Vanilla Gift Card is Visa Prepaid

  • Still heaps of stock at Armstrong Creek, VIC.

  • Top Ryde had reasonable stock earlier today (just after lunch). Staff had no clue the deal was on and had to be shown the catalogue before they accepted it.

  • What are some good games currently on sale on the eshop?

  • Coles World Square sydney got lots of $15 and $30. Think only saw a couple $60 left.

  • This might sound like a dumb question. My Switch is set to the US region, and I haven't changed it back to Australia yet. Do I need to change regions before being able to add the funds from the eShop card?

    • +2

Create another account for AU region, add it to the switch and use for purchases on AU store. You will be able to play these games using either accounts.

  • +1

Seeing the prices for online store, there's a not a lot of benefit on the first party games that are full priced. These seem better off purchased from JB, Amazon using respective discounted gift cards.

    • +2

For full priced/pre-order first party's you're better off getting NSO Vouchers. Double savings with the Coles discount + what you save on them. Works out pretty nicely.

      • Thank you, considering the same. Am I able to get the voucher and use it towards a game now, and use the other game voucher for a future game not yet on pre-order?

        • +3

Firstly you need to be a member of the NSO subscription, they have a 1 year expiry date from the point of purchase, and lastly you also need to be subscribed to redeem them. (Something to keep in mind if you decide to cancel membership while you still have a voucher remaining..)

But yeah nothing stopping you from buying a pair now and using one on something like ToTK or the Mario Wonder pre-order, and holding onto the other one for something coming out before September 21 next year.

  • -1

Heaps left still at my local.

  • Deal of the decade! Cleaned out my local.

    • -1

Really, it’s just a gift card to buy egames

  • Awesome deal, just picked it up at Coles Earlwood (And there was plenty left)

  • Surprised to see how many cards still floating around, when it was 10% at BigW the shelves were bare.

    • I know, right, especially with Super Mario Wonder just around the corner.

Makes digital copy ~$65 at launch, which is on par with physical copy, which is pretty good considering digital doesn't discount as much or as often as physical, if you want a digital copy.

Or buy NSO+Expansion and then flog the additional slots on OzB and potentially profit, LOL.

      • +3

To maximise the savings, you can buy a Nintendo Switch game voucher in the eshop for $134.95 which lets you redeem two games, and use one of the tickets to redeem Wonder which comes to $53.98 per game considering the 20% off. You do need to be a NSO subscriber to buy the vouchers though I do believe.

  • Picked up 2x $60 at Karrinyup, plenty left still.

  • Heaps of $15, $30, and $60 left at Coles The Willows, just grabbed a couple.
