Did you price match over the phone or Instore ?That’s a good deal !

    • +3

Always use JB's live chat via their site - always have luck via this route as opposed for some of the questionable staff in their stores (at least near me). That way you can live chat them the link to the TV on appliance central so there's no messing around.

      • That’s crazy I’ll try to negotiate next time on chat , usually they just price match it and won’t drop it more

$1744 delivered via Powerland eBay with code HGTSEP

How did you get it to come down an extra ~7% at JB?

    • +2

I'd like to know that true, at OPs price of $1657 I might just pull the trigger and add it next to my C2. Let us know OP.

      • @thesmartone1125 I have DM'ed you the live chat transcript I had with JB - hope this helps mate

        • are you able to share the receipt as well via DM? would like to try getting them to price match as well.

          cheers,

Hi mate, can you let me know what the order / basket number was for the 1657 price? Live chat is only willing to go down to $1700 for me unless I give them proof of your price

        • Dude, may I have this chat transcript with JB too? Or could you DM me any kind of proof of your price? Much obliged!

Whenever I deal with JB I ask them to beat the price rather than match it - they always do. I work with someone that used to work on their live chat and naturally they are trained to match when asked to and vice versa for beating. It's literally that simple. Also, if you have literally anything else you need with at the time of deal i.e. a literal DVD - the more items you are bundling for your 'deal' the better the outcome on final price.

I tried to get the JB hi-fi live chat to match a Nintendo switch OLED at the Gamesmen that was discounted on eBay with a promotional code. They refused and I promptly purchased the Switch from the Gamesmen.

        • +1

JB don't price match retailers that either solely operate from eBay or have a side store via eBay such as the Gamesmen. With that said, they won't tell you this explicity as they are toeing the line of their own policy. End of the day, Gamesmen is a small business and I'll always support them where possible as opposed to big retailers!

JB generally don’t match stores that have a promotional code entered at checkout. Same goes with Officeworks

They only price match/beat on the base promotional price without any further coupons being applied

@BargainsGrabber: Yep, plus if shipping isn't free i.e. Video Pro they have a meltdown lol

Holding out for sub-$1300. Tell me I'm dreaming.

Maybe black friday this year if you're lucky although like every LG OLED deal, the 42" / 48" models usually get no or a small discount. Good luck though mate !

      • +1

42" was down to $995 a few months ago. Granted that was not during a big sale but rather EOL. I'd rather not wait that long however.

        • +1

Was that the C3 or a C2/C1 ? Either way fantastic deal. With all of this said, so many people use these as monitors so current price could be a solid tax write off for WFH - just a thought if that was your use case.

          • @atliens: It was a C2. Unfortunately I cannot use it as a tax write off as my company transitioned this week back into 5 days in the office.

            • +2

@mu11yy: Damn, we just moved to 1 day a month - not the place to start the old WFH debate but unlucky mate !

        • Yeah exactly, 42" can get to about that price, but you're looking at around March next year, I would prefer getting a 48" before end of year.

    • +3

It will eventually.. just before this model arrived the 42" C2 was going for sub $1k

      • Yeah , C4 launch you might be in luck !

      • +1

I really would like one soon, but the question is, is it worth it to wait another 4-5 months until C4 comes out. Or just spend the extra 600 or so right now. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

  • For a PC gaming monitor, is this better or inferior to the Samsung NEO Q-LED range in the similar size?

    • +1

Q-LED will never produce the blacks of an OLED - LG run the show when it comes to these panels. With that said, monitor depends on what kind of games you play i.e. a CSGO player would want the highest refresh rate and lowest latency possible so might settle for a 1080p monitor with this traits. For someone playing story games and casual online games these OLEDs are fantastic if you have the budget IMO.

        I bought a 55" Q90 QLED to replace an old B7 OLED - what a mistake.

The motion on the QLED was just terrible, inverse ghosting all over the shop. Janky UI, lots of stuttering. Very bright, but thats all it had going for it.

Sold it after about 5 hours of use.

I bought a C2 42" as a PC monitor and its been one of the best display purchases I've ever made. Waiting on a 48" C3 to be ~$2k before pulling the trigger.

        • Super agree. Love my c2 42 and would not hesitate to buy LG OLED again.

        • EDIT: I managed to snag a C3 48" at GGuys for $2100 using this deal, thanks OP!

          • @jonnlad1: got the 48" for $2095 from JB so happy with that !

  • +1

I'm still hanging out on a good promo for the 65"

  • Tried to get JB to beat the sale price but they would only offer to match :(
