Hi. travelling to Singapore. everywhere I see it says you should visit Universal Studios but none of us like going on rides (motion Sickness) and there are no children only 1 15yr old . is it still worth a visit as tickets are expensive?

no. that would be a waste of money.

  • Well, its a pretty cool park - but not going on rides… can't see it would be worth it.
What about the 15 year old? Surely they would enjoy the rides.

  • Just send the 15 yo in by themselves, and you can hang out at Raffles until they're done…

errr no, rides are almost the only thing to do (besides overpriced merch and food).

you can meet Transformers there.. i met Bumblebee and Megatron last time i was there

  • is it still worth a visit as tickets are expensive?

I was there this April. I don't think it was worth it as the park was practically the same since my last trip in 2011.

The park is small and most of the rides were horrendously average. The Battlestar Galactica Cylon roller coaster was forced to undergo maintenance for most of the day I was there.

Also, if you don't buy express passes beforehand, you will be stuck waiting in the regular lines for hours. And in Singaporean humidity, you'll be absolutely miserable.

    • you can buy the express pass inside the venue as well i recall, so you can assess when you're there.

      • You're right.

I bought the express passes beforehand and I was glad I did. Not because I thought the rides were worth it (they weren't) but that the general weather and crowds were so bad that I could leave the park earlier than I would be able to without the passes.

    • Pro Tip: If you dont have little children with you, use the Single Rider queue.

  • As someone who has visited Universal singapore 5 times, I would say avoid if you are not into the high intensity rides.

The shows only operate at a certain time and usually in between people will try to queue up for rides and try to maximise the day. You will be spending a lot of time walking around, and waiting for shows to happen. There isnt much other stuff to do also, food is mediocre, shopping experience is boring. Due to the heat, you will constantly try to hide under shelter somewhere. I would rather go to the SEA Aquarium instead.

  • Do you like the atmosphere of being around rides?

  • No. I was there end of last year for Christmas period. Went with a big family group - those under 30 had a decent time (although with the amount of wait time, managed about 7 rides / shows in total the whole day we were there - 1 per hour). Those over 30, left within an hour as there was nothing to do for them.
