There is generic advocate now called neovet i only found this out a few months ago
Also as a true ozbargain, i will get the big dose pack for cats over 4kg and use one tube twice if you only have a small cat (or for 2 cats), each tube is the same ingredients but double the size compared to the under 4kg pack.
Remember to put it in the fridge after opening. this makes each dose around $3 at $36 for a large pack of 6
And for those who are wondering I also looked at the dog version (thinking i could use it for even longer) but the ratio of the 2 active ingredient is different to the cat version.
Haha I did the same thing but split between my two cats. When I was at the counter asking pet barn sales if that’s a better way to use these, they were not impressed and said they are meant for a single cat and if split it could have issues with uneven doses. Glad I wasn’t born yesterday. It is way too much I have found, for a single cat anyway. They instantly lay on the floor and leave a huge wet spot… Or help each other lick it clean.
yes exactly, if you look at the instructions it’s the same dose for say, a 2kg and 4kg cat, judging by weight if we use the whole tube for a smaller cat it’s definitely too much

What good is one dose.
It's legit just cheaper to treat your pet if and when they get fleas/worms and not bother with this. Is there a bigger racket than the million percent markup on these monthly treatments they guilt you into?
Ahh yes, I too as a responsible pet owner want to make sure my beloved animal suffers things invisibly for as long as possible until I dare bestow any treatment upon them.

I am happy to worm my cat on occasions.
As an inside-only single-household cat with low mosquito levels area,
I don't allow any grass eating,
and there have never been fleas,
I think heartworm is overated.
