      Yea pretty good. Bought one for a family member recently who suffers from asthma and they're noticing a positive difference. Nice and quiet in low-speed sleep mode. App is a bit useless, but you don't really need it.
      Can't seem to spot other filter options that fit this, so I'd pick up a spare just in case these are on a run-out.

      Seeing the unit is $600 and filters $200 each on their website, along with the fact it's only been on Amazon for couple months, I'm worried they'll jack the prices once enough people have bought the unit at a bargain. Also, a couple people report here filter life is only 3-4 months. For fine tuning noise and output, I really prefer a unit with variable fan speed control rather than only high/med/low.

        Yeah I have my unit running since 13 July everyday 24/7 and right now the app says it is at 31% so it does appear to have a relatively short filter life. But the app is just an indicator working on time ran not on the actual degradation of the filter's effectiveness since my air isn't that bad, in all likelihood the filter will still work fine after it's "finished". Kinda like those Brita jugs whose filters I still use after the indicators runs out since I don't refill it that often and it still works. I hope they dont jack up the price but maybe cheap xiaomi knockoff filters could fit on it.

        Sorry mate, wasn't trying to offend, more a social commentary like when you hear people say Idiocracy is a prophecy. The negs back you up so I'll eat my words it's come across wrong.

        I get there are asthma sufferers and things that need help and fair enough there but I don't know, it just seems to be getting so much more common that people can't breathe the air comfortably isn't it?

          Focus on the built-in air ioniser, which emits ozone. Pretty disturbing environmental impact for a product claimed to improve health.

            @JeBs: This is an interesting one as ozone can be an asthma trigger. I have a Sharp FU-Y30 (discontinued) which supposedly has very minimal ozone generation compared to other technologies. It uses a plasmacluster ion generator.

              @Gravy: Ozone is generated as a by product when creating the charge, not because of negative or positive ions. That plasmacluster can still generate ozone and many asthma sufferers have reported irritation from it (the larger units anyway). The main benefit of the plasmacluster is it doesn't make particulates sticky (like -ve ionisers do) - the idea is the negative ion attaches to the particulate and the positive ion then destroys it on contact.

          There's so many other reasons for needing an air purifier. I don't know anyone getting these for general purpose who don't have specific needs requiring them. Those extend far beyond just asthmatics…

          I live in a place that gets dusty, if you have a workshop or anything like that it's something extremely important.

          Personally I have pets that shed extremely thin and light hair that circulates around the air around the house and it helps considerably.

          Some people live in areas where local air pollution is a real problem, industrial areas, areas prone to fires, heck even if you have to deal with second hand smoke thats something that's dangerous.

          There are enough studies that highlight the fairly considerable reduction in lung cancer risk for people who have elevated risk factors be that for work, hobbies, general environment, etc.

          Additionally the power usage of these are extremely low relative to what they are and what they do. At the end of the day these are no more than a DC Fan with a filter in front of it.

          These are extremely easy and relatively cheap environmentally to make and operate from an emissions standpoint in the grand scheme of things. The point of these isn't to clean up the pollution or offset or fight it by whatever means you're implying..

          This ain't where the good fight needs to be happening.

      I have this air purifier and that feature is off by default. You can switch that function off on the control panel of the unit or in the app.

        Here's a pic of the app I screenshotted and stitched together if anyone's curious https://ibb.co/qxYc8c9 I wished the schedule function could also specifiy what mode it will use (eg. switch to sleep mode after 7pm) but can only schedule on/off.

        I put this in my bedroom and I have two cats. The other day acrid smoke was wafting around, maybe from backburning or something, I closed the windows and switched this on high and it cleared the air in minutes. The PM detector actually also went up when the acrid smoke was around and went back down after it filtered the air. It traps alot of fine dust and hair as well, see pic after I've vacuumed it to prolong filter life https://ibb.co/3yCvFtt
        This is my first air filter so I don't have anything to compare it too but my nose now stays clear and I don't get allergies so I'd say it works well. I run it 24/7

        Ozone is corrosive.
        Literally.
        It's an extremely volatile form of oxygen that can irritate/damage your lungs, mucosal linings, eyes etc.

        In a commercial setting it's often used to sterilize storage areas and kill mould/fungus.

        Not a great idea to have in the home.

          Anything that generates a charge can emit ozone. The negative ion emitter may generate ozone as a by product but the amount would be small and the carbon filter would trap most of it. The negative ions would be a bigger issue as they can make allergens stick to the surface of your lungs. But the easiest way to avoid both issues is to keep the ionizer off.

      Check out purifiers that use plasmacluster ion generation, which supposedly produces very minimal ozone compared to other types.

      Is this like the scare-mongering over the toxicity of non-stick coatings on frypans? Where you'd have to eat like 50 frypans a day for it to be a bad thing.

      I'm curious to buy some xioami knockoff filters and see if they'll fit too..considering the original NX filters are 2/3 the price of the whole machine right now I may consider trying the xiaomi ones

    Just received ours - these things are massive! Got all 3 paired up to the app fine (looks and functions very similar to the Bunnings Grid Connect smart switches app). Links to Google ok. The HEPA-13 drum filters are TWICE the size of the TruSens Z-3000 that we have. Thinking of decommissioning the Z-3000 and replacing it with one of these… 🤔

      Just got mine today, was yours sealed in any way? Mine looks like it was returned with no seal in sight, or probably just been sitting in their warehouse for quite some time.

        Product box was unsealed but came in a brown carton box. Back of the unit was taped down with 4 sticky strips. Inside the filter was sealed in plastic. Power plug had a plastic prong protector on it.

    The NX filter measures around 310mm high and 243mm ext diameter. Xiaomi is 293 x 210 according to the website. Wonder what the internal diameter is and if there is a way to make it fit the NX - could always elevate the filter say 15mm, but not sure if the top surface would mate with the NX?

    Anyone with a Xiaomi purifier care to measure up the internal diameter of the filter?

      Shouldn't you be comparing it to the 3H model not the 4 model? 4 model uses Xiaomi's own non-HEPA filter.
