I noticed they have dropped the price on these units. I own two of these units and am really impressed. Works with Google and Alexa and I also checked with NX before I bought and it’s rated: CADR level is upto 500m3/h or 295CFM

This seems to be the best option for the $ at the moment. RRP is $599.95 which is a bit of overkill but for $105.34 it’s definitely a bargain.

From the manufacturer:

Hmmmm. $6 off retail of $111. Looks just like the Xiaomi 3 minus the front perforations and any objective reviews thus minimising air circulation and good faith.

Thanks for posting. For a second time during your first two weeks of membership…

    • You’re welcome. Mods told me to create new post.

  • +4

No reviews and a harmful Ionizer. Better off going with https://www.amazon.com.au/TruSens-Purifier-SensorPod-Quality…

    • +2

The ioniser and UV are off by default. It's Tuya based so can bypass the associated app and control it via Home Assistant. Only negative is the lack of finer fan speed controls but at 40% the price of the sensorpod it's pretty good value.

    • the filters are $99…

      • +1

        ?
        $25 from the link above

Edit: you mean the sensorpod filters?

  • +3

I am in the market for air purifier so will give this one a go.

Heck, if it works will give the first review in Amazon.

Op, butter me up and give me an extra filter will you wink2.

    • I’m only posting to help others man. I don’t know much about this company.

    • -7

LOL! How could he do that? He’s just a super stoked, mega happy customer - now with lucky hamster - who just happened to stumble on the best air purifier ever made, at $500 off…

      • +7

Seriously?! What’s your deal man. No hamster here but yes I am really stoked with my purchase. Don’t like it, move on. No need for your whining.

        • -7

Go on then - be a sport. Toss in an extra filter in exchange for @pxrnm’s genuine offer to provide a first objective review for this unknown product that’s got you so excited! Imagine how many units could be sold if two people were spruiking its virtues? I might even buy one myself…

          • @UncleRico: Buy one or don’t. Doesn’t matter to me man. And if I find another bargain, when I post I hope it meets your expectations 🤦‍♂️

            • -7

@mrDiscount: Awesome. I await your next deal with baited breath.

I certainly hope you don't go the same way as so many others who join up minutes before posting their first deal or two about a mystery product they stumbled upon at a huge discount off a quoted retail (with zero evidence of it ever having been sold for one cent more according to the cubes camels) only to disappear into the ether when questioned..

              • +4

@UncleRico: Been around on OzBargain under ddammitt for years mate. I lost login credentials so have started fresh. I’m done replying to you.

  • +3

xaiomi I think is safe bet than this no name brand

    • Agreed. But we are talking about different price ranges.

      • -2

Agreed. Tried and tested Ziaomi's retail for less than half the price of your quoted retail.

        • +3

If you’re going to troll try and do it right. It’s Xiaomi.

          • -2

            @mrDiscount: "It’s Xiaomi."

            Oops - typo. Xiaomi indeed.

No trolling here. Don't be so defensive…

  • +2

I would never turn that ionizer on.

Uv also needs some time to kill bacterial, and air passing through briefly, means it does nothing.

But 100ish is quite cheap. Hope filter is easy to find and cheapish

I purchased one of these after your last posting and have been impressed with it so far. I also have a Xiaomi 4 Pro and needed a filter but they are impossible to come by at the moment. I decided to take a chance on this so I'd have another unit and to get me by until stock is available for the Xiaomi filters. It's very similar to the Xiaomi in size and features. Main drawback of this model is the lack of a custom fan speed feature. Sleep mode is too low to be effective and medium is a bit noisy for a quiet space. Other than that it does the job well, The advertised features all work as described and it was easy to setup. Based on my experience with the Xiaomi i also purchased a spare filter as 9 months ago when i purchased the 4 pro there was stock everywhere but now when i need it nothing is available world wide.

    • +2

I bit the bullet and gave it a shot. The Xiaomi filter situation sounds frustrating.

      Cheers BarginSniffer and mrDiscount

  • the design looks familiar

  • +3

No reviews on amazon, posted by recently created account with two deals of the same product.

    Sus lol

  • +3

So it’s a xiaomi copy but not a good one and they are claiming a RRP of double the xiaomi… right….. solid no from me

  • +1

Good idea to stock up on these before next summer which would probably go as crazy as 2019/2020 thanks to El Nino~

  • +3

Remember none of this matters if you can’t find filters, and affordably.

FILTERS ARE CONSUMABLES, you should be replacing every 6+ months.

  • +3

So initially I was skeptical about this deal, but after looking into it further I think this is actually a pretty good one. Air purifiers are very simple machines, they force air through a HEPA filter to capture particles, so you can't really go wrong with any machine as long as there is a reliable supply of genuine replacement HEPA filters. For an example of a super-simple air purifier that works excellently, see the IKEA FÖRNUFTIG (usually sells for $99 or so).

Filter availability for the NX-100AP appears to be decent, at least as of right now. Both the air purifier and its filter are sold by Amazon AU, so you can always rely on their customer service if anything goes wrong. However, if Amazon's supply runs out, there don't seem to be many other sources available for filters. A casual search of eBay only reveals 2 sellers, one of which is about to be sold out of stock. So if you do decide to buy this air purifier, I suggest you also stock up on filters in case supply is constrained later on. The filter price is very cheap and affordable, which is a major plus.

Important: I do NOT recommend buying cheap noname/generic filters, since you cannot trust that they actually work.

NX group has an Australian website and you can also order directly from them, although their retail prices are exorbitant/completely ridiculous:
    https://www.nx-tech.com.au/nx-100ap-rapid-air-purifier.html
    https://www.nx-tech.com.au/nx-100ap-air-purifier-filter.html

Here is the PDF manual, from what I can see the mobile app looks reasonably capable:
    https://www.nx-tech.com.au/media/wysiwyg/manual/NX-100AP-MAN…

This appears to be a fairly new product, hence the lack of Amazon reviews, but from what I can see there isn't much to dislike. The only thing I can ding them for is:

    • lack of manual fan speed control: this is nice to have, but not super essential. I always recommend running at medium or high fan speed anyway, since the machine can't do its actual job if the fan is running at low speed and forcing hardly any air through the filter.
Having said that, manual speed control is very useful if you want to moderate the amount of noise the machine makes — I sometimes have my Xiaomi 3H running at a low but still useful speed so that it isn't too noisy.
    • lack of DC motor: this means that energy consumption will be higher compared to other similar machines like the Xiaomi 3H (usually around 70-80% higher, close to double). This isn't a deal-breaker, since the fans don't use all THAT much energy anyway — the rated power consumption is 60W and that's almost certainly at full power (i.e. max fan speed).

I already run two Xiaomi 3H machines at home but I'm seriously tempted to pick up the NX-100AP since I need one more unit to cover my hallway and bathroom area. And I currently do not recommend buying any more Xiaomi units due to the dire/expensive filter supply situation (Kogan is currently the cheapest at ~$50 for a genuine Xaomi HEPA filter, but who knows how long that will last).

    • What does "lack of manual fan speed control" mean? Is it that you can't choose low/med/high, you can only choose auto?

      • +1

Probably a bad choice of wording on my part, I meant "lack of precision fan speed control", i.e. you can't set it to very specific discrete values such as 12% fan speed, or 87% fan speed etc, you can only set it to the pre-defined presets that are offered: low/medium/high.

This can be annoying because low might be too slow a speed to be effective, but medium is too fast and noisy etc. So you can't choose something in-between.

"Auto" modes are usually pretty useless because they tend to only kick in when there's a lot of pollution/particles. The cheap particulate sensors in most consumer grade machines don't tend to be very sensitive. And some sensors ignore certain types of particulates altogether — for example, my Xiaomi 3H on "auto" mode usually kicks in when it detects cooking smells or obnoxious bushfire smoke, but rarely turns on for anything else. So I rarely use auto mode, and just use manual controls instead with my own specific favourite fan speed setting.

        • Oh ok, is that a common feature though?

    • +1

just bought one to try and its really good, the filter is solid and proper Hepa, very affordable and comes with uv and ioniser. I just bought another 2, i think its a steal at ~88 bucks. I agree with all your points, its excellent. Lit a candle and the air quality sensor immediately detected and adjusted to clear the air. Love it.

      • Always good to hear feedback from people, thanks for posting this follow-up! I hate how the price of the filter has increased so much, otherwise I would've bought the NX-100AP by now.

[edit] Though it looks like the filter price is trending downwards again. At this rate, it may reach the same ~$25 low that it initially launched at.

        • yeah the filter is where they will make their money back i guess. :P

  • +1

The price has gone down to $102.46

    • +1

      Jeepers! $497.49 off retail…

      /cynic mode off/

  • +2

Purifier price gone down to $100 , but price for filter jumped almost 2.5 times to 60 now

  • Have took the plunge as the price seemed right. Now it’s been a week. Pretty happy with the performance of the machine so far.

Only downside is filter seems to be running out pretty quickly. I am running it 24/7 and it seems to be depleting at the rate of 1% per day. At this rate filter would last close to 3.5 months max. I am just hoping I would be able to still use it pass the use by date otherwise this is going to very expensive machine to run.

    • Especially now the filters are $60. Do you think these being a knock off there might be cheap filters that are compatible? Hoping so

      • I ordered a backup filter while it was $24 , so I have one backup for now

Haven’t seen any cheaper compatible option anywhere so far. But I must say the build quality of this machine and filter looks pretty good for the price.

I just hope filter last at least 6 months

        • I got one spare one as well but should have got a couple more. If they come back down to the $25 mark I will grab one and comment on here.

    • +3

I'm glad i grabbed 3 spares at $25. I've been running mine 24/7 for a Month and according to the machine its down to 74%. I just pulled it out and gave it a vacuum and plan on running the same filter for at least 6 Months. As long as you clean / Vacuum it a few times in that period a filter this size should last 6 Months minimum. I will also comment back here if i notice the filter price drop again.

      • +1

I have now put a price alert on camelcamel 😊

  • +1

Looks like the price of purifier will eventually meet the price of filter for this one

    Current purifier price : $88
    filter price : $60

  • +1

back in stock and even cheaper. I bought one, got it running, its really good.
