Samsung Secret Sale finally reveals the price without having to add to cart to check.

NOTE: The advertised "SSD 990 PRO 2TB with Heatsink" for $169 is actually 1TB in cart

    • samsung use these tactics, to boost traffic to their websites for more sales. This is just a drama, and created for a reason.

$869.40 for SRL459MB 427L Bottom Mount Refrigerator. Decent price

Avoid the watch5. Battery life is dismal.

    • I thought watch 5 had bigger battery compared to watch 4. I blame android than samsung for battery life

    • +1

I had a Watch 4 which on the default settings would run out at 6pm. Pathetic.

I wish Apple Watch worked on Android. Or there was some good watch on android. Android Wear is just horrible and laggy regardless of hardware. There really is no good android watch.

      • Get a Garmin imo

        • They're all absolutely hideous.

I'm thinking of getting an Amazfit GTS 4 - unfortunately it only comes in gold and black.

      • Had absolutely no battery issues with my GW4 Classic 46mm, with always display that I only turned off at night.

    Thanks OP, Got S8 Ultra.

    • is it worth ??

      • +8

I love mine. Paid $1400. No regrets

        • What is are your use cases for it? I already have TV's in every room and a couple of 13" touch screen 2-in-1 laptops (windows and chromebook).
I love the price of the S8 Ultra, but don't know what I'd do with it.

          • +2

@elektron: tablets and 2in1 laptops are very different in terms of user experience. For lightweight tasks I find tablets much more easier and reliable. Battery life is better, far more lightweight, and much better touch interface. You can do the same on both, but it's just more enjoyable on the tablets.

Tempted with the tab s8u. Currently have s7 where it has been serving me well. I use it for emailing, reading and signing PDF docs, browsing and movies. Handheld most of the time. At time I seem to be wanting a bigger screen when browsing or doing emailing or PDF but am worried if ts8u will be too big and heavy.
Any thought for anyone who gone from s7 kinda size tablet to s8u?

    • +2

I have the tab s7+ and s8 ultra. I loved the tab s7+ but I have to be honest, the ultra is just something else. Some people say it's too big, for me it is impossible to go back to s7+ or even the ipad pro 12.9. So yeah s8u is magnificent. hope it helps!

    • +4

I went from an iPad 9.7inch one of the base models - like the 2018 version or something - to the S8 Ultra and let me tell you…

      wowee

The thing is more like a portable TV than a tablet. It is amazing. Beautiful, massive OLED screen. Watching content on it is second to only a good HDR 4K TV. And it has the benefit of being portable of course, so you can watch in bed, or wherever really.

It is a bit unwieldy though. I used to read ebooks on my iPad but I don't really read at all on my S8 Ultra - which is a bit of a shame. It's quite tiring to hold in your hands, for longer periods, due to the weight & size. Generally I use it sitting on my lap with a hand propping it up from behind.

But in terms of media consumption - thing is amazing.

Productivity it can be good too - if you get the Keyboard Cover (which is another $300 or so I think). That kind of turns it into a mini laptop. And then you can split screen apps and have a bit of a workflow going.

One note though - it is still a tablet, and runs Android. In some ways that's the biggest limitation of trying to use it with the keyboard cover. All the functionality you'd get through Windows/Mac apps is somewhat lost. You're limited to apps that have been designed with a mobile experience in mind, and a lot of apps won't even be designed for a large format screen like S8 Ultra has. iPad Pro has better app compatibility I believe.

But, it comes down to what you're using it for. If you want a device you can watch content on (Youtube, TV, Movies) and something that can double as a productivity tool, or even just browsing the web. Plus, if you're always using your tablet on a hard surface - eg. Table or Coffee table something like that. I'd say the S8 Ultra is a great choice.

If you're always in bed on your tablet, reading, or longer format content - eg. Newspaper, articles, etc. Or you want something you can take with you on the go, something easier to handle or something easier to throw in a bag. The S8U might not be for you.

      • Thanks. I was just super tempted though I handheld the tablet about 60-70% of the time but might change the way I use it if I get it but look like its OOS so it make my decision easier now. Keep the S7. Hehe

I've had a watch5 for about a year now and it's good. Battery lasts a few days easily with light use and very handy while at work.
$220 new direct from Samsung sounds a good price. I paid 250 for 'brand bew' gumtree version

  • +5

here is my experience for watch5 pro if anyone wants to know the watch5 pro vs watch5 battery.
owned a watch5 pro for 6 months. generally the battery will last 3-4 days depending on your usage.
for my usage, it chews approx 35%/day (continuous measuring oxygen, heart rate, sleep, stress and always on display). i find it the screen will turn off when im asleep even though always on display is on. the main reason i turned on always on display is i found the display doesn't turn on with small movement on my hand and a bit slow. pretty much i wear the watch for approx 22-23 hours/day except when charging and showering. i think samsung needs to fix this to make it more sensitive to the movement and turn on the screen.
without above continuous measuring and always on display, it can last 4 days without any issue.
i was thinking of upgrading to watch6 but the battery life is worth than watch5 pro. so no go for me. look like i need to keep using the watch5 pro till watch7 or higher battery capacity.
bought watch5 pro @ $378 after trade in bonus of $150 (trade garmin venu for $1), $50 newsletter and some discount off the retail.
hope this helps for watch5 pro buyers.

Is it really that much effort to double tap the screen to turn it on?

      • +4

For me yes when my 1 hand is holding a newborn or toddler or vacuuming.

      • +2

For a watch? yes. AOD makes a lot of sense on a smart watch since you often just want to glance at it to get the time/details (like y'know, a normal watch). The contrived gestures/motions (on my old Apple watch) don't always work.

        • I don't use a smart watch, so I was genuinely asking if it was that much hassle.
I have an old Casio that you need to push a button on the front face to light it up at night to see the time, so I couldn't see how it was that much more effort to tap the face of a smart watch? i.e. "i find it the screen will turn off when im asleep."
There was no mention of the screen being off while vacuuming or holding a baby.

          • @Tiggrrrrr: I think a key difference with your casio though is even without pressing it you may still be able to glance at it and make out the time in the day or potentially at night if there is any stray light. Smart watches are frustrating in that without AOD its hard to glance subtly eg in a meeting, or when you dont have both hands free. IMO AOD was a game changer as i owned the Og apple watch and found it to be annoying that 10% of times when the watch didnt recognise the wrist flick movement to activate.

    • Really came in for for 5 pro deal.

Cheapest have seen is $449 on Amazon. Not sure if I can find below that.

  • +1

The most annoying website. Only watch seems to be with a small or medium band, cant seem to change to large or do any other combo with the discount.

They never have any decent bandsavailable when you check

    • +1

Large bands are for 44mm watches only and only 40mm watch is on-sale now. Some decent bands were in the last few secret sales

      • Ahhh right, that explains that, thank you!

    • I considered to buy with mix of band as well but 40mm is not great for me after serious check and consideration so giving a pass,

  • will jbhifi price match this by anychance? thanks,

    • Just tried online, they wont do it.

U can try ur luck at a store

  • Seems the Tablet is OOS already, just missed out :(

    • yes

    • Was thinking n missed out.

Honestly get a series 9 tablet. Easier to hold, waterproof and newer

      • +1

$1957 @ corp site, 512G, Almost double, compared to this

        • +1

Cheapest s9 is AMOLED. Huge upgrade from s8

  • +3

if you are serious about fitness then get a garmin watch

    • Sleep tracking is just as pathetic as Samsung's. So all the fancy indicators like training readiness and body battery that use sleep data are also useless. And HRM on my Epix 2 (and the Fenix 6X Saphire before that) during weight training is way off.

Its only redeeming qualities are battery life and chest strap compatibility. They also look nice, but are much more expensive than Samsung watches.

Is that 32" Odyssey G51C Monitor ($449.25) a good one?

I've got a 3060ti and an old Acer XB270HU with G-Sync (27" 1440P 2560 x 1440). It might be time for an upgrade if this is a bargain and a good screen, I'm not sure if I'll be able to see a big difference….

    • +3

Your Acer has 2560 x 1440 at 144hz and that 32in has the same resolution and 165hz. Not worth the upgrade. If you are looking to upgrade, I would probably just wait till OLED 27in 2560x1440 at 144hz goes down a bit. Other than that, I think your monitor is already great with your card.

      • Thanks for the input, really appreciate it. It does seem to have aged well, probably had it about 8 years now I think, it was expensive at the time. I'll hang on for now.

  • +1

I would have gone for the tablet, but I also need the keyboard case……$499!

    256gb S23 Ultra price?

    • +1

Click the link to check for yourself?

    • i dont see it there… ?

  • Awesome deal. $220 for the watch, and since i purchased the Galaxy Fold5 as well, I can do TRS for it, which brings it down to $200!

  • Perfect timing, my S6 Lite just got bricked after software update. Thinking about next tablet.

  • Watch 5 is showing as coming with a Watch 6 band. I presume they're universal?

  • Are they having sale on the earbuds 2 pro?

  • That Code doesnt seem to work SECR9T

    • The code only works on the items on the link from OP

      • Yeah I tried on the galaxy 5 watch 40mm

  • Why won't it let me put the tablet s8 ultra in the cart?

    • +1

It has been OOS about 3 hours ago

        • C'mon dude… get with the times

  • +2

Thanks OP! Had been looking for an S8 or S9 ultra. Managed to get the tablet before it sold out.

  • -3

about same speed as iPad 9th gen

  • +1

The tablet for that price is a steal. Fortunately just sold my secondhand one for a similar price after upgrading to the 1tb S9 Ultra 5g

  • +1

FOMO, didn't buy it then looked on epp program and now regret not buying it. Wasn't planning on getting one since I wanted an Ipad pro 12.9. Going to post a deal shortly

  • -1

Wow, really amazed to see a android tablet that is $1k is in demand.

  • -4

Friends don't let friends buy galaxy watch

  • +1

Thanks, I bought a fridge. Stacked with $50 newsletter voucher! 👍

  • Anyone manage to get this code working with anything on the epp store.

Code gets added successfully but there's some issue putting items through

  • How does one get future deals on Samsung?

  • +5

If you add two separate watches (different colours) and remove one band, it works out to be $320 for both watches. You can buy a cheap band for like $10 online for the 2nd watch

    • +3

Showing as $341 if you add 2x Galaxy5 bluetooth and remove 1 band for me. Whether they will flag it when it the order gets packed is unknown.

      • Very unlikely - Samsung outsourced their distribution to some other mob (downside is they're useless if any issues arise as well)

    • Works out to be a good deal

  • So the watch4 is better than 5? I don't get it

  • Plenty of knocking of the watch4, but I've been/am very happy with my 44mm version. Good battery life and comfortable.
Best improvement was to a stretchy band from amazon for $10.

    • Do you have a link to which one you bought?

  • Thought about this too long and before I knew it, it was OOS.

  • +3

    Managed to get Watch5 4G + Watch5 BT + 1 Band for $224 with the following codes:
    SECR9T (this deal)
15% off accessories code (received from email after purchasing S23 phone earlier in the week)
35% off watch4/5 code (received from live chat last week)
    $50 newsletter code

    • How long after ordering the S23 does it take to get the 15% off accessories voucher?

      • +1

Got mine 1-2 days after ordering.

    • Damn congrats! What did you do to ask live chat to get the 35% off watch4/5 code?

      • I was initially getting the 10% loyalty code from live chat and at the end they offered some discounts for other samsung products. Among them was 35% for watch 4 and 5 series.

    • Managed to get the 35% off code from live chat just now, even though they said it wouldn't stack with SECR9T.

Was there a particular order you applied the codes? Couldn't get it as low as $224.

      • +1

        I did this order: SECR9T -> 35% -> 15% -> $50

I also removed 1 of the bands from cart.

        • Thanks, that did the trick!

  • When I add the S8U to add, it takes to a Samsung page with a blank cart.
Any ideas how to purchase this? Lol

    • +1

      It means it sold out

  • Has anyone's watch ordered through the deal dispatched?

    • +1

Only just had it change from 'Waiting for approval' to 'Preparing order'.

    • Just changed to 'Awaiting dispatch'.

    • It shows that the watch has shipped and will arrive 21/9 (yesterday) but I haven't received it so I contact Samsung live chat and the agent said the delivery date has been revised to 3/10. Wtf? Asked if I can change delivery method to pick up at a Samsung store, not possible as it has been shipped. (profanity) ridiculous.

  • I got my order today, but it was missing the fabric watch band (had only ordered one) 😔
Samsung is now following it up with their team

    • Lucky you. My delivery is in limbo. Samsung agents said it's with the courier but they cannot provide a timeframe. Asked them to get the courier to contact me, not possible as well. Asked for tracking number, not possible. How stupid!
