      Different people enjoy different things.
      I'm a brand collab fiend.

      • +3

If you don’t identify yourself with select brands and influencers, you don’t exist.

        • I mean I just like brands working together.
I'm personally not into nike or supreme. I prefer the less logical crossovers.

          • @ihuntbargains: most of these fashion brand gives you a little bit nicer material but cost 10x more

          • @ihuntbargains: Any specfic websites you keep an eye on for collabs or do you just research current and future releases for your favourite brands?

I'm wanting to grab collabs of car parts brands but never know where to keep an eye out apart from stubbling across random collab sales that are already sold out.. 😪

            • +1

@WasBargain: Can't say with car parts, I usually use Reddit and have friends on social media who let me know/post about them

    • +3

I have both. The material used (i.e. leather grade) are different in these two pairs but whether it's worth it or not is subjective.

      • hows the leather on the supreme?

    • Also has supreme laces and "sockliner/insole". Looks like a typical Supreme item with the laces on.

    • After shipping and fees, it's about $325+ from StockX.

      • +1

I'm not saying to buy it from stockx.
But you can find a rough value of them based on stockx prices.
They're good if you have ebay plus.

        • +3

Didn't think you were saying to buy them there! Just wanted to provide context to your post haha

  • Is the difference really just on the Supreme logo compared to the classic model?

    • +1

The bespoke sockliner and a second set of red laces with further Supreme branding. [sic]

      not quite ;)

    • +2

      low effort collab

  • Wait, I'm a plus member but it's not dropping to $228?

    • +3

      add coupon DASO20

      • I didn't add any code, but just refreshed and now it's showing the discount, thanks though!

        • +1

Yeah ebay has been really inconstant with showing discounts.

          • @ihuntbargains: Weird huh.

I saw that eBay Sep17 or whatever it was a week ago, then someone posted it on OzB and I thought better to grab the thing in my cart before it stops working and now it won't show for me.. eBay doing some weird things.

  • +1

Would these be good to keep in storage for collection?

Edit: Screw it, grabbed a pair. 😅

    • +4

Care to explain your negative vote?

Edit: what classifies as “rubbish” per your comment? Do you own a pair or you know someone who does? Or are you just speculating based on your opinion with no backed by research? Or you just wanted to comment “rubbish”?

  • Are these legit? So many fake sneakers on eBay and this store only has 592 feedback

    • Yeah 100% legit since eBay is doing promos with them for eBay Plus. They also have Authenticity Guarantee badge from eBay.

      • Thanks. Would've bought if they had size 11.5 but looks like they only have either 11 or 12

        • +1

Are you accounting for the larger sizing of AF1's? Most places recommend sizing down half a size, unless you have like decently wider feet.

  • +3

Maybe I’m just an old fart but can anyone explain why these are so expensive? They look plain and should cost around $90 lol
    Is it a collector thing?

    • +2

It's a popular colourway and it's a collab between Nike and Supreme, so no surprise they'll charge a lot for the shoes. Paying for the branding and the image/exclusivity that comes with the shoes more than anything. No way this shoe in particular would be below the ~$170 mark, given that's where the normal Air Force 1s sit.

      • +3

Thanks, I had no idea supreme were even a brand lol… they have my size but I think I’ll pass, I still don’t get the draw of these

    • Coincidentally watched this vid a couple days ago - justifies your reasoning about cost - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOoieCwFhLc&ab_channel=RoseA…

Found out the hard way you can't actually wear collectible shoes.

I had an old pair of Air Force Max's in my cupboard. Loved em.

Put em on the other day and the soles literally turned to powder as I walked!

    Polyureathane breaks down over time.

So don't collect em if you think you can wear them later (which is kinda the whole point of shoes)

    • So you had never previously worn them? That's WILD imagining they just disintegrated into power..

      • +1

Nah, had worn them a few times. But still as new.

Did a quick 'googling' and apparently that is the norm (urethane rubber absorbs moisture in the air and breaks down). So you can collect shoes, just don't wear them in 15 years time.

The outsole is still perfect, the air units fine… Everything else just crumbled away

        • +1

          Damn, that's pretty crazy.

But understandable even with my little knowledge of urethane products. The worst thing was probably the heat cycles /sweat in between wears. 15 years is a solid time though!

Did you keep each shoe with a moisture pouch thingo? I plan on putting these into a big box with other shoes, ready to ship overseas for my move. But I don't think I'd ever wear it. Would you recommend not ever even trying them on if I'm going to sell it in a decade? 😅

          • +2

@WasBargain: I just had them in a shoe box. A moisture pouch thingo (don't know what they are), but would likely help.

That being said, I lived in northern SA/ central Australia, and it is the driest place on the planet (my back yard literally looked like Mars). We had 4 rain days in 19 months…so it's DRY. RC aircon.

But there is definitely plenty of heat (hitting 40C the other day already, not uncommon to be above 50C. So heat may have been a factor (but they were inside, in a box, in a cupboard). When I went away, it was around 35 -37C inside when I got back.

So maybe no moisture, no heat and they will be fine (store em in the freezer!)

    • Happened to me too.

      • Pride and joys turning to dust..brutal.
        Nike as well?

    • you need to wear them periodically to slow down their disintegration process
      https://old.reddit.com/r/Sneakers/comments/vycyvu/how_long_d…
this issue is also more pronounced in air maxes

  • I like and hate the af1 white, for being the best looking af color, only to turn yellow after a yr.

  • +2

Quite a good deal, given that these retail at $120 USD (~$205 aud incl. gst) and accounting for the cost to bring these into aus

  • +2

wow didn’t expect to see this. nice deal 👍

    Pull the trigger, thanks OP
