Just a word of warning, if you're a silence freak you won't like this type of fan. I would shell out a bit more and get a non reference board.

would there be a difference putting an aftermarket vga cooler on this or a non-reference board?

      • not worth it… get the EVGA or the ZOTAC

  • If you're going to buy a card of this magnitude chances are you might have a water cooled system. Just get a water cooler block for it and water cool the thing. Much better performance, better lifetime and better noise. Win Win Win. It might cost you like $100 for a stupid little piece of metal which is against OZbargain spirit but hey you can't win them all.

Just get one with a decent aftermarket cooler. Heats not a major factor in oc'capability, most stock coolers will keep temps below the threshold on high oc's. Design of the board, power delivery and limitations and a good banned chip determines these. Only difference is water cooling eliminates coil whine from crappy stock coolers, and obviously lower temps.

If you do wc this, go get a universal gpu block for $40 and just put ramsinks for the mosfet.

  • cheapest i've ever seen a GTX 670 in australia.
although it still says it's $399.00 on their website.
how did you get it at $385?
