Places to go on a food tour of Melb CBD

Hi all,

The wife and I have a day in the city this weekend and I was wondering if anyone has any tips for some nice food places to stop at - basically a mini food tour. I'm thinking pastries, doughnuts, other 'snacks', lunch option, maybe a brewery in the CBD (if it exists). Any tips would be welcome - we don't venture into the city much any more (kids…) so I'm pretty out of touch on the hot places!

Thanks

      • The best.

$2 each these days, use to be a lot cheaper. Then again, probably a good thing for your waistline.

  • Thanks for all the tips so far - is the south Melbourne Market still worthwhile or has it died down/become too commercial these days?

I highly recommend it. Imo the croissants from Agathe at South Melbourne Market is far superior to Lune but people may disagree. All the pastries at Agathe are very good but I highly recommend the croissants (especially the plain one and almond one) and lemon tea cake.

      • I've also heard good things about the croissants from the South Melbourne Markets
