  • having the same issue sufficient funds in the account one went through and one didnt……

  • Yep I had a failure as well on my last Dec payment - couldn't be bothered chasing up (especially with Citi!) hopefully all back to normal in Jan….

  • Just had my January payall fail, first time ever after years. Only noticed when they sent me an email. Has anyone got to the bottom of this?

  • Same has happened to me twice, not sure what is going on.

    • Did you have enough in your account the day before the payall transaction?

The Christmas, boxing day and new year public holiday threw me off and they took the money out way earlier than I anticipated.

  • mine went through

  • Mine have been going through fine. I leave about $100 remaining in the credit limit though

  • +1

got sms that transaction failed and funds will be credited back, please, login to the internet banking for more details. But there are no details.
Actually, there is no even transaction that they moved money out.
    finito la comedia.
    game over
free PayAll was too good to be true
    :)

    • PA from another card went through..

  • still works for me.

  • Customer service pretty hopeless. Call centre aware of payall issues for at least a few weeks, and it is getting looked at by IT apparently, but no timeframe for resolution.

  • Got payall failed, How do you guys handle this? Retry or let them to automatically retry?

    • A retry would probably cost the 2% fee as it’s setting up a new payment.

2 of my 4 payments failed yesterday. I had sufficient funds for over a week for all four too. Seems contacting them doesn’t help.

      • I just called them and they said they will provide update in 2-4 business days. But TBH I don't expect any solution from them..I wonder if retry, would they waive the fee for us?

        • Did you get an update? I have two payments on the 3rd and two more on the 7th. Half worked in early Jan, so hoping it’s fixed now.

          • @bk1973: they replied it has been fixed. I will see what happen to this month

  • Transaction failed. First time it's ever failed. I think its all over?

    • I have had a few successful transaction yesterday and today. I had one failed as the fund isn't allocated due to public holiday, the fail one is still scheduled for next date

  • I just got charged $104 interest on my January 24 statement and I don't know what for?

My closing balance from Dec statement was $15k, I paid 16k by the due date and got 6k taken out for payall which shouldn't impact it anyway. WTF is going?

    • Does that workout to be roughly 20% of your closing balance?

      • No it doesn't

    • You'll need to call citibank to find out, was there any cash advance?

      • no, i dont do any cash advance

        • What is the description on the statement for this charge? Just says interest?

          • @CodeXD: Interest Charged -Retail

          • @CodeXD: I think i got a similar problem as this

            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/793450

            • @Homr: Ah yes I see. The statement specifically said you need to pay $xxxx and you paid back less than that.

A refund is not considered amount that you've paid back.

              • @CodeXD: no, in my case I paid back all plus $1k on top

  • My sister had one fail in December and I had one fail in January, even though there were sufficient funds in the account.

  • Mine failed last month (first time), but worked again this month!

    • Same! Went through OK, then took another 12+ hours for the points to show.

  • Mine failed last month but worked again this month!

  • I've had no issue with mine since.

  • Hey everyone - does anyone know how payall feature will be affected if my accounts are migrated to NAB? Just received a message saying that it will be transferred by the 24th Feb.

    Thanks in advance!

    • +1

Which Citi card do you have? This is concerning. The easy way for NAB to get out of this PayAll stuff: just transfer everyone from Citi to NAB cards and no more PayAll.

My newest little theory is that Citi started/extended free PayAll to get more card holders and use that to increase the sale price to NAB. Just a theory, but sounds somewhat plausible. I believe I said it on this or another thread, but I expect PayAll to be gone altogether sometime in '25 or maybe later this year.

    • What citi card do you have? AFAIK citi transaction accounts are moving over to NAB but not credit cards.

      • I think he is referring to other Citi accounts and not credit card based on this article: https://www.nab.com.au/customer-notices/citi-move-to-nab

But I guess Citi cards would be in line soon to be move over to NAB. They are gradually moving everything to NAB, it's not a matter of if but just time when it will happen.

        • This thread is for citibank PayAll - which is only on citi credit cards. That is why I asked them what card they have because like I said, no card with PayAll is affect at this moment.

If you hold a Citi branded credit card or personal loan, there is no change for now. You can continue to use your account as normal. We’ll contact you with plenty of notice of any change.

  • Does anyone know if I go from Citi Rewards to Citi Primier. Can my PayAll transfer over?

    • No, PayAll is tied to the card. If you change it you will need to re-set up everything.

      • Bummer - looks like I gotta keep my Citi Rewards. :(

      • This isn't true. I had a Citi Prestige last year, downgraded to Premier and I didn't have to change or update my PayAll, continued as normal

        • Did you card number remain the same?

          • @Meovel: Card number changed, but the pay all was migrated automatically

            • @krazek: How did you downgrade? Did you ask on live chat? Or did it all manually and signed up to Premier and then cancelled Prestige?

              • @CodeXD: Just called them up and requested a downgrade

            • @krazek: Did PayAll work beyond 90 days of your downgrading? I spoke to them today and chose to downgrade, but I was uneasy with the agent's explanation. I then went on chat and they told me there is a "90 day grace period" where charges to the old card will go to the new card. They even pasted the policy points on this that were read to me on the phone too. Was told on chat that this would mean PayAll beyond the 90 days wouldn't work anymore. I found this very concerning and cancelled my downgrade. I'm trying to get a clearer explanation with them, but there's no secure email to ask about this. Their customer service is very spotty.

              • @bk1973: Yep, I downgraded last year in September, Payall has been running as normal until now so definitely past 90 days. If they are saying it wouldn't work after 90 days then I wouldn't risk losing it tbh. Or maybe try call again and get another rep that will confirm.

                • @krazek: Thanks. I've emailed them hoping for clarification. Maybe a better response than just a random agent.

        • Downgrade from Prestige to Premier isn't an awful idea for some. Quick analysis.

Pros: Annual fee goes from $700 to $300. Net is save $400.

          Cons:

          1) Can only earn 200K rewards points from transactions each year with Premier Card. Can do 240K+ with Prestige and 20K/month Payall. So loss of 40K or more rewards points.

          2) Loss of Prestige perks: Unlimited Priority Pass visits reduced to 2 per year, loss of once-per-year car transfer service (up to $100), and maybe something else I'm forgetting.

Overall: The loss of 40K+ rewards points could be worth maybe 24K+ Velocity points (40K -> 20K velocity plus the occasional 20% transfer boost). 24K velocity is worth at least $300. Not much of a difference, especially if you use Priority Pass 5+ times a year. The one difference maker could be if PayAll disappears suddenly, but I think we'd all demand to cancel and pro-rated annual fee if that happened.

          • @bk1973: Additional notes:

            • Some users have been able to call up and get a 50% discount on the Prestige annual fee for the 2nd year. Not sure if you can do the same for a downgrade.
            • For some (or all) the 200k point cap appears to not exist when using Payall, here Legoman+1 confirmed exceeding that cap
          • @bk1973: When you downgraded - were you able to get the bonus points? as I am currently looking up upgrading my Rewards to the Premier.

            • @Fasian: I've not downgraded. Might try to though, we'll see. Even though @krazek was able to downgrade and not have their scheduled PayAll affected, I still am weary or trying to do it given how lucrative PayAll is (even with a $700/year annual fee for Prestige). One I get billed the $700 annual fee, I'll try and call and get a discount on the fee.

@wangasm: The link you put above is for 200k limit on PayAll points in a year. The limit I'm referring to is a limit on the Premier Card itself for 200k per year (whether it's from purchases or PayAll), whereas Prestige has no yearly earning limit. It's a different limit altogether.

              • @bk1973: my bad. @wangasm, do you know if you got the bonus points with your downgrade / upgrade. Trying to get the Preimier before it get move over to NAB.

                • @Fasian: Sorry I don't know if you retain the bonuses from upgrading/downgrading.

I do know you can hold both cards at the same time and get both bonuses. I did the same for Prestige and Premier. But you obviously lose the Payall setup on the new card.

It will likely still be some time before the credit cards are moved to NAB so I don't think you need to worry about moving asap. We were given 6 months notice for the debit card move.

                  • @wangasm: Yeah. I got a bunch of pay all that I want to keep. Thanks for your help

  • Hi all,
I currently get the credit card payment (including) payall direct debited from my citibank savings account.
From Feb 24th, the citibank savings accoung will transition over to NAB.
How does everyone pay their credit card?

In my case, i setup payall to a HISA early in the month. I would then transfer the amount to the citibank savings account at the end of the month to maximise interest.

  • scheduled BPay to the Citi CC account from another bank . Make sure that your funds will arrive before your PA schedule. Especially because PA date is not fixed and could be 1-2 days earlier.

    • how many days for the money to arrive via Bpay? Looks like for now bpay is the only option.

  • Damn, just got rejected again tonight due to insufficient funds in the account. Direct debit was on the 19th, the money has registered on my account and money removed from my bank immediately on the 19th but not cleared yet (as of the evening of the 21st). Payall payment is scheduled on the 25th. Have they changed the time it takes for funds to clear? Or time when the Payall payment comes off the card?

    • The day the card is charged hasn't changed. Funds are almost always taken 3 business days before the scheduled Payall date. Because the 25th is on a Sunday that makes today the expected day the funds come out.

      • Sure, but funds sitting in my account for 3 business days waiting to be cleared, is that normal? As I've set it up nearly a year ago, and the first time I got rejected was on Christmas (assuming because of the amount of non-business days involved) and then again tonight.

        • Do you mean showing as "Pending" in your statement/transaction list? I guess mine usually clear within a day (I usually use the linked Citi Plus account to pay). Did the funds get added to your "Available credit" balance though?

          • @wangasm: The direct debit on the 19th labelled "easypay payment" does not have the word "pending" above it as some other recent transactions are. But the "current balance" has my direct debit included, but the "available credit" does not and has been like that since the 19th.

    • You should have received an SMS and email a few days prior stating:

Your PayAll transaction of AUD 20000.00 to xxx will be processed on xx/yy/zzzz

That is when I send the amount back to my citi account and it has worked 100% every single time. If I missed it by a single day it will throw everything off and PayAll will fail for that month.

      • Yeah, confirmed that text message came in on Friday 16th, had I sent money to my account then maybe it would have cleared by now. I think I've got to start doing manual payments from now on.

  • For now there is no Citi plus accounts, so we can only use Bpay to payback credit card.
Does anyone know how many days will take the money to arrive if using Bpay?

  • I am buying a property and the banker told me to reduce/close my Citi CC. I am on the 35k PayAll per month setup, if I reduce the limit to say 2k. Can I preload my card with $$ and then have it still do the payall and get full points for that? I think I will do this that way in 6m (citi restriction) I can apply to up my limit back to 37k, but probably have them fail in the meantime.
I think there was talk about it in the main thread but I couldn't find it from my searching.

    • I believe prestige has min limit of 15k. Don't have the answer to your question though.

      • I am on rewards, support confirmed 2k is the min limit. Glad I am on this rather than the prestige, probably couldn't get the loan with 26k more credit haha

    • My wife is preloading her Premier with 16k limit for 20k Payall. It failed only in December (even though there was enough money on the card) when many others had problems.

  • I see that the fee is not being charged for some people still, is that for those who set up the recurring transaction before Nov 2023 and if you were to start a new payall you would have to pay 0.95% transaction fees? I had to cancel my citi card for a property a year ago and was looking at getting this again now for the payall benefit. But if I apply now and the fees are charged it may no longer be worth getting this…

    • Yes if you set up payall now you will definitely be charged the fee.

No fee if you had it set up on or prior to 31st Oct 2023 iirc

      • Thanks for confirming, I am sad that I missed out! :/
